Background: The management of malignancy post kidney transplantation includes reduction in immunosuppression and referral to an oncologist management of their malignancy. Recent advances in oncology have resulted in the approval of several classes of drugs with immune-modulatory activity. However, activation of the immune system against malignant cells may precipitate allograft rejection in solid organ transplant recipients.
Case Presentation: Herein we present a case of acute kidney allograft rejection in a 50 year old man following administration of the novel immune-modulatory agent nivolumab for the treatment of metastatic squamous cell carcinoma.
Conclusion: The management of malignancy in solid organ transplant recipients requires a heightened awareness of the potential for allograft rejection in this new era of cancer therapeutics.

Integrating artificial intelligence (AI) into oncology can revolutionize decision-making by providing accurate information. This study evaluates the performance of ChatGPT-4o (OpenAI, San Francisco, CA) Oncology Expert, in addressing open-ended clinical oncology questions. Thirty-seven treatment-related questions on solid organ tumors were selected from a hematology-oncology textbook.

Background: Pancreatic trauma is a rare solid organ injury. Conservative treatment is often indicated in patients with no pancreatic duct injury, while patients with high-grade pancreatic damage most often require surgical intervention. Laparoscopic central pancreatectomy (LCP) is a parenchyma-sparing approach and can prevent endocrine and exocrine insufficiency after pancreatic resection.

Solid organ transplant (SOT) recipients are at increased risk of infective diarrheas. In such patients, diarrhea can be complicated by dehydration, leading to acute kidney injury or vascular thrombosis. Viral diarrhea in SOT is reported to be commonly due to cytomegalovirus and norovirus.

Introduction: Sepsis is a life-threatening organ dysfunction caused by a dysregulated host response to infection. Patients with cancer are at risk of developing sepsis and requiring intensive care unit (ICU) admission. We aimed to assess survival of patients with a solid tumour admitted to ICU as an emergency with sepsis, and to identify predictors of 90-day survival at admission.

The trans-vessel wall device (TW-device) is a new endovascular tool for precise and safe delivery of various payloads (cells, viral, modified RNA, chemotherapy, growth factors) in oncology and regenerative medicine. The twofold aim of this study was to assess cell engraftment and tumor growth using the TW-device for endovascular transplantation and to evaluate its ability to directly access solid tumors. We used the VX2 model in the rabbit kidney to compare percutaneously implanted fresh VX2 cells with TW-device injections of cryopreserved VX2 cells.
