Neurohospitalists represent a new approach to inpatient neurologic care. In order to characterize this practice, we surveyed both a general neurology sample as well as a sample of pertinent American Academy of Neurology sections. Of the section sample, 42% defined themselves as neurohospitalists, compared to 16% of the general sample. The majority of neurohospitalists are in an academic setting and share call responsibilities with non-neurohospitalists. Many are concerned about the possibility of burnout in their current practice setting. This representative sample of neurohospitalists reveals a diverse group facing a number of unanswered questions and challenges, including concerns for burnout, ideal practice setting, and defining the core curriculum for a neurohospitalist.

Hydrophilic coating embolism (HCE) is a rare and underreported complication in neurointerventional practice that can lead to serious medical consequences. Two endovascular procedures were interrupted at our institution after a cloudy liquid content was observed inside the rotating hemostatic valves (RHV) during microcatheter withdrawal. In both cases, the same type of microcatheter (Prowler Select Plus) and RHV (Merit) were being used, and coating dislodgement was suspected.

The purpose of this study was to conduct a scoping review to identify literature on existing and planned policy to address DRM in children or adults and explore the settings, contexts and actors of DRM policy.
Methods: A search strategy comprising DRM and policy keywords was applied to eight databases on 24 February 2023.
