Complete endothelialisation of coronary stents is an important determinant of future thrombotic complications following coronary stenting. Stent surface texture is an important factor that influences endothelial cell growth. With the emergence of second and third generation coronary stents, is limited comparative data describing endothelial cell growth in contemporary stent platforms, and limited data available on approaches used to rapidly modify the surfaces of commercial coronary stents to improve endothelialisation.

The tightly bonded shielding coating on biomatrix significantly enhances the functionality of medical devices, bioprostheses in particular. In our work we have obtained a polyelectrolyte coating on a biomatrix by sequentially depositing chitosan and hyaluronic acid (HA) from solutions in carbonic acid under pressure. This approach makes it possible to obtain hybrid biomatrix with a firmly bonded polymer screen due to the electrostatic bonding of polyions.

A pharmacokinetic study was set up to investigate the pharmacokinetics of the anti-emetic agents aprepitant and dexamethasone and the drug-drug interaction between these drugs in children. In order to quantify aprepitant and dexamethasone, a liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry assay was developed and validated for the simultaneous analysis of aprepitant and dexamethasone. Protein precipitation with acetonitrile-methanol (1:1, v/v) was used to extract the analytes from plasma.

Aims: The aim of this trial was to compare the safety and efficacy of a thin-strut biodegradable polymer sirolimus-eluting cobalt-chromium stent (Orsiro) to a thick-strut biodegradable polymer biolimus-eluting stent (BioMatrix).
Methods And Results: This randomised, open-label, non-inferiority trial was conducted among patients undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention. The primary endpoint was target lesion failure (TLF).

Background: There is limited data comparing the Xience everolimus-eluting stent (EES) and the Resolute zotarolimus-eluting stent (ZES) with the BioMatrix biolimus-eluting stent (BES).
Methods: This open-label, randomized, noninferiority trial enrolled all-comer patients to be randomly treated with either BES, EES, or ZES in a 1:1:1 ratio in 15 centers across South Korea. The primary end point was a device-oriented composite outcome consisting of cardiac death, target-vessel myocardial infarction, and clinically indicated target lesion revascularization at 24 months.
