Angiodysplasia of the right colon may be difficult to diagnose. The usual methods of choice, selective abdominal angiography and colonoscopy, may be impracticable or fail. When bleeding occurs, 99mtechnetium blood-pool scintigraphy is a simple and reliable method of localizing vessel leakage. We present a case of an 84-year-old woman with severely bleeding angiodysplasia, where the source of bleeding was localized by means of scintigraphy using 99mTc in vivo labeled red blood cells. After right hemicolectomy, the angiodysplastic lesion was confirmed by specimen venography utilizing a barium gelatin mixture.

Technetium pyrophosphate (Tc-PYP) scintigraphy has shown utility for diagnosis of transthyretin (ATTR) cardiac amyloidosis with a high sensitivity and specificity. However, in clinical practice, a protocol and a method of analysis of this modality are not yet unified. We present a case of ATTR cardiac amyloidosis showing a positive cardiac uptake in planar imaging but no myocardial uptake in single-photon emission computed tomography/computed tomography (SPECT/CT) fusion imaging on Tc-PYP scintigraphy.

Background: 99mTechnetium-HDP (HDP) bone scans differentiate transthyretin (ATTR) cardiac amyloid from other infiltrative myocardial diseases. These scans are not quantitative and are assessed by comparing myocardial uptake to bone. This study examined whether quantitative HDP SPECT/CT can discriminate individuals with cardiac ATTR from the population without this disease.

In prostate cancer, reliable information about the lymph node status is of great importance for accurate staging and the optimal planning of treatment. Despite recent advances in imaging, the histological detection of metastases, or pelvic lymphadenectomy (PLND), continues to be the most reliable method for lymph node staging in clinically localised prostate cancer, especially as this procedure enables the detection of small or micrometastases. Radioisotope-guided sentinel PLND (sPLND) demonstrates high sensitivity in the detection of lymph node metastases as well as low morbidity in prostate cancer because of the targeted removal of a relatively small number of lymph nodes.

The patient experienced aggravation of symptoms and limitation of motion during the past two months.

Unlabelled: The presence of ventricular complex cardiac arrhythmias in coronary patients, both at rest or during physical exercise, is considered a risk factor for future coronary events or sudden death during long time follow up. The meaning of ventricular complex arrhythmias (VCA) in patients with normal ventricular function and without myocardium ischemia has still not been explained. This study aimed to evaluate if patients with normal ventricular function and no evidence of cardiac ischemia (determined by means of Gated SPECT) who developed VCA during stress test show an increase in cardiac events on later monitoring.
