While Fowler-Stephens orchidopexy (FSO) is still being advocated as the gold standard for the treatment of this entity, there is new and conflicting evidence on the comparative outcomes between single- or two-stage laparoscopic FSO (LFSO). Congenital and acquired cryptorchidism present distinctive challenges in surgical management, with different implications for fertility.

Neonatal testicular torsion (NTT) is a rare but significant condition occurring within the first 30-day postbirth, leading to vascular compromise and potential testicular loss. This paper presents a case of NTT detected incidentally in a neonate with bilateral hydrocele, emphasizing the challenge of early diagnosis and management complexities. The infant underwent surgical intervention involving detorsion and bilateral orchiopexy but eventually required right orchiectomy due to necrosis.

Introduction: Cryptorchidism is commonly treated with orchiopexy at 6-12 months of age, often allowing time for undescended testicle(s) (UT) to descend spontaneously. However, when an inguinal hernia (IH) is also present, some surgeons perform orchiopexy and inguinal hernia repair (IHR) immediately rather than delaying surgery. We hypothesize that early surgical intervention provides no benefit for newborns with both IH and UT.
