Purpose: Uncorrected visual impairment (VI) significantly impacts life quality and exacerbates age-related health issues. Social determinants of health (SDOH) are associated with uncorrected VI, but quantitative evidence is limited. This study investigated the link between SDOH and uncorrected VI among aging adults to identify disparities and improve vision care.

Background: Research identified individual‐level socioeconomic factors as key determinants of cognitive health. This study investigated the effect of area‐based socioeconomic deprivation on cognitive outcomes in midlife to early late‐life New Zealanders without cognitive impairment. Understanding geographical dimensions of socioeconomic determinants of cognitive health is important from an equity perspective.

Machine‐learning can estimate the biological “brain age” from neuroimages, which provides complementary information to the chronological/calendar age.
