Background: Evidence for Mobile Stroke Units (MSUs) demonstrates that onset to treatment times for intravenous thrombolysis can be reduced and access to mechanical thrombectomy might be improved. Despite growing use of MSUs internationally, to date there have been no studies in NHS England and NHS Wales exploring the acceptability of MSUs to clinicians, patient and public representatives and other key stakeholders, which are important when considering potential feasibility and implementation.

Methods: This study used a mixed methods design with a cross-sectional survey and qualitative workshops and interviews between October 2023 to May 2024.

Background: No-reflow following primary percutaneous coronary intervention (PPCI) is challenging to treat.

Objectives: The objective of this study is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of upstream high-bolus-dose tirofiban administration in ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) cases undergoing PPCI on top of dual antiplatelet therapy, including ticagrelor, in comparison to selective bailout administration.

Methods: This hospital-based, randomized, single-blinded prospective interventional study was conducted on 150 patients at Assiut University Heart Hospital.

Purpose: The Multicentre Acute ischemic stroke imaGIng and Clinical data (MAGIC) repository is a collaboration established in 2024 by seven stroke centres in Europe. MAGIC consolidates clinical and radiological data from acute ischemic stroke (AIS) patients who underwent endovascular therapy, intravenous thrombolysis, a combination of both, or conservative management.

Participants: All centres ensure accuracy and completeness of the data.

Background And Purpose: Prolonged length of stay (LOS) following a stroke is associated with unfavorable clinical outcomes. Factors predicting LOS in medium vessel occlusion (MeVO), impacting up to 40% of acute ischemic stroke (AIS) cases, remain underexplored. This study aims to investigate the predictors of LOS in AIS-MeVO.

Safety and Outcomes of Intravenous Thrombolysis in Acute Ischemic Stroke with Intracranial Artery Dissection.

Int J Stroke

January 2025

Department of Health Security System, Center for Health Security, Graduate School of Medicine, Kyoto University, Kyoto, Japan.

background: : Intravenous thrombolysis (IVT) for acute ischemic stroke (AIS) related to underlying intracranial artery dissection (IAD) poses potential risks, including the exacerbation of intramural hematoma and the rupture of the dissected arterial wall. However, the safety of IVT in this specific population remains uncertain.

aims:: This study aimed to assess whether IAD is associated with an increased risk of intracranial hemorrhage (ICH) following IVT and to evaluate its impact on functional outcomes.
