The last decade has seen significant progress in the development of flexible electronics and sensors, particularly for display technologies and healthcare applications. Advancements in scalable manufacturing, miniaturization, and integration have further extended the use of this new class of devices to smart agriculture, where multimodal sensors can be seamlessly attached to plants for continuous and remote monitoring. Among the various types of sensing devices for agriculture, flexible mechanical sensors have emerged as promising candidates for monitoring vital parameters, including growth rates and water flow, providing a new avenue for understanding plant health and growth under varied environmental conditions.

A baccatin III:3-amino-3-phenylpropanoyltransferase (BAPT, Accession: AY082804) in clade 6 of the BAHD family catalyzed a Mg-dependent transfer of isoserines from their corresponding CoA thioesters. An advanced taxane baccatin III on the paclitaxel biosynthetic pathway in plants was incubated BAPT and phenylisoserine CoA or isobutenylisoserinyl CoA with and without MgCl. BAPT biocatalytically converted baccatin III to its 13--phenylisoserinyl and 3-(1',1'-dimethylvinyl)isoserinyl analogs, an activity that abrogated when Mg ions were omitted.

Ribosome profiling reveals the translational dynamics of mRNAs by capturing a ribosomal footprint snapshot. Growing evidence shows that several long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) contain small open reading frames (smORFs) that are translated into functional peptides. Hypothesis: The role of interfacial coatings in gas transport dynamics in foam coarsening is often difficult to quantify. The complexity of foam coarsening measurements or gas transport measurements between bubbles requires assumptions about the liquid thin film thickness profile in order to explore the effects of interfacial coatings on gas transport. It should be possible to independently quantify the effects from changes in film thickness and interfacial permeability by using both atomic force microscopy and optical microscopy to obtain time snapshots of this dynamic process.
