Introduction: We aimed to evaluate the effects of hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) on erectile function in patients who had no cavernosal or urethral injury by using International Index of Erectile Function (IIEF) questionnaire.
Materials And Methods: The male patients who were treated by HBOT for several diseases between July 2017 and September 2017 were examined. All patients filled the IIEF questionnaire form before the first day and after the last day of HBOT and a questionnaire including demographic characteristics and medical history. The effects of demographic characteristics and risk factors on erectile function were evaluated, and the IIEF domain scores of patients in first day and last day of HBOT were compared.
Results: Totally, 50 patients were included in the study between July 2017 and September 2017 and the mean age was 59.38 ± 13.77. The mean post-HBOT IIEF-EF score of patients was significantly higher than the mean pre-HBOT IIEF-EF score of patients (15.74 ± 10.52 vs. 19.50 ± 10.91; p < 0.001). The mean post-HBOT IIEF scores of other domains including intercourse satisfaction, orgasmic function, sexual desire, and overall satisfaction were also significantly higher than pre-HBOT scores.
Conclusions: HBOT may be a good alternative treatment or adjunctive treatment for erectile dysfunction.

Background: Infertility is a significant issue in spinal cord injury (SCI) patients. Men with SCI often experience erectile and ejaculatory dysfunctions, and low sperm quality leading to impaired fertility. In this study, we investigated the effectiveness of Erythropoietin (EPO)alginate/chitosan (CH-AL) hydrogel on SCI-induced male rat infertility.

Functional and aesthetic aberrations of labia majora are poorly described in scientific literature, and there is a lack of standardization and algorithms for treatment. The labia majora differs from the labia minora in that it has transitional epithelium, fascia, erectile tissue, and adipose components connected to crural, pelvic, and perineal structures. Non-surgical treatments, such as radiofrequency and light-based therapy, must match the symptoms and target these unique structures to have an effect.

The present work focuses on the production of sildenafil co-evaporates loaded emulgels as topical dosage forms for the treatment of premature ejaculation and erectile dysfunction. Topical administration of sildenafil citrate (SILD) co-evaporates is expected to improve the bioavailability profile of the drug and to avoid the severe side effects accompanying the traditional SILD dosage forms, especially for prohibited cardiovascular cases. Firstly, the solubility of SILD was improved via solid dispersion via co-evaporation technique using PEG-5KDa and PVP-K90 as hydrophilic carriers.

Background: Presentations and outcomes of acute myocardial infarction (MI) differ between women and men, with the worst outcomes being reported in younger women. Mental stress induced ischemia and sympathetic activation have been suggested to play a prominent role in the pathogenesis of MI in younger women, however, the impact of sex hormones on these parameters remains unknown.
Methods: The effect of sex hormones and age on myocardial infarct size and myocardial sympathetic activity (MSA) was assessed in male and female, as well as young (4-6 months) and aged (20-22 months) FVB/N mice (n = 106, 60 gonadectomized and 46 sham-operated animals) who underwent in vivo [C]meta-hydroxyephedrine ([C]mHED) positron emission tomography (PET) and cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) imaging 24 h after a 30 min myocardial ischemic injury.

Objectives: To evaluate the impact of Aquablation on circulating tumor cells (CTCs) in men with localized prostate cancer.
Methods: This prospective study included subjects with biopsy-positive mpMRI visible lesions (PIRADS ≥ 3) who underwent Aquablation. Ten ml blood samples were collected before, during and after the procedure to measure CTC counts using an immunofluorescence assay.
