Pleomorphic adenoma of the parapharyngeal space is a rare benign tumor, representing less than 1% of tumors of the parapharyngeal space. Considering the volume of the tumor, the complexity of the space and the potential difficulties of excision, an imaging work-up including at least computed tomography (CT) and/or magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and possibly analysis of the vascular axes (angio-MRI, arteriography) is essential. Treatment of these tumors is essentially surgical.

Initial imaging in February 2023 showed signs of a renal cell carcinoma and possible lung metastases. A CT-guided biopsy and histopathological analysis ruled out malignancy and confirmed a benign inflammatory pseudotumor.

Developmental venous anomaly (DVA) is a common benign brain vascular malformation, typically asymptomatic, with intervention required when complications arise. We present the case of a 63-year-old man with mild cognitive decline whose brain FDG PET showed decreased uptake not only at the site of DVA, but in the extended surrounding parenchyma where MRI showed no parenchymal abnormalities. DVAs arise from developmental irregularities in the embryonic venous system, but likely affecting a greater extent of the surrounding parenchymal functions.

Background: Total laparoscopic hysterectomy (TLH) is nowadays the standard to treat benign and malignant disease occurring in the uterus, but the number of robotic-assisted surgeries is increasing worldwide. To facilitate the handling of sutures in a bi- and tri-dimensional plane, a new type of suture material has been developed, named barbed sutures, which are in use in different indications. In comparison to conventional suture materials, the barbs anchor the suture in the tissue, provide tissue approximation and prevent slippage without the need for knot tying.

Background And Objectives: Accurate classification of lymphadenopathy is essential for determining the pathological nature of lymph nodes (LNs), which plays a crucial role in treatment selection. The biopsy method is invasive and carries the risk of sampling failure, while the utilization of non-invasive approaches such as ultrasound can minimize the probability of iatrogenic injury and infection. With the advancement of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning, the diagnostic efficiency of LNs is further enhanced.
