Olaparib (OLA) is a poly ADP ribose polymerase (PARP) enzyme inhibitor used to treat prostate, ovarian and breast cancer. The drug substance OLA was subjected to forced degradation as per ICH prescribed guidelines. It was degraded in hydrolytic (acidic and basic) and oxidative stress conditions and yielded four degradation products (DPs) while it remained stable in neutral hydrolytic, dry heat and photolytic stress conditions. A stability indicating assay method was developed to separate OLA and its DPs using InertSustain C18 column (250 × 4.6 mm, 5 μm) with a gradient mobile phase of 10 mM ammonium acetate (pH 4.5) and acetonitrile (ACN) at a flow rate of 1 mL min. The characterization of DPs was carried out by using liquid chromatography-electrospray ionization-quadrupole-time of flight tandem mass spectrometry (LC-ESI-Q-TOF-MS/MS). Major degradation products (DP-1 and DP-2) were isolated by using preparative HPLC and structures were further confirmed by using NMR spectroscopy. All the obtained DPs were new and not reported previously. The developed chromatographic method was validated as per ICH Q2 (R1) guideline and USP general chapter on method validation.

Application of herbicide-degrading bacteria is an effective strategy to remove herbicide in soil. However, the ability of bacteria to degrade a herbicide is often severely limited in the presence of other pesticide. In this study, the atrazine-degrading strain Klebsiella varicola FH-1 and acetochlor-degrading strain Bacillus Aryabhatti LY-4 were used as parent strains to construct the recombinant RH-92 strain through protoplast fusion technology.

Given the extensive use of plastic materials in modern society, there is an escalating concern about the potential risks associated with exposure to plastic products. This study investigated the impact of plastic leachates from boiled-water-treated cups, including polypropylene (PP), high-density polyethylene (HDPE), low-density polyethylene (LDPE), polystyrene (PS), and polyethylene terephthalate (PET), on male reproductive health. Experimental mice were administered daily doses of the plastic leachates for 180 consecutive days.

Department of Vegetable Science, Institute of Agricultural Sciences, Siksha 'O' Anusandhan (Deemed to be University), Bhubaneswar, Odisha, 751029, India.

Tomato, belonging to the nightshade family, is globally considered as a model system for classical and molecular genetics, genomics, and reproductive developmental studies. In the current scenario of climate change, hybrid development is among the crucial elements in the genetic improvement of crop plants. The phenomenon of male sterility is a viable approach for ensuring hybrid seed purity and reducing the cost of hybrid seed production.

In agricultural production systems, the harm of both antibiotics and microplastics (MPs) to human health has been an important and continuously concerned issue. A small bagged silage production system was designed to investigate the effects of Lactoplantibacillus plantarum, polyethylene (PE) -MPs and their mixture on the silage fermentation and chemical composition of Tetracycline (TET) -contaminated whole plant maize. In addition, the bacterial community of silage samples was analyzed by using next generation genome sequencing technology.

Climate warming and frequent incidents of extreme high temperatures are serious global concerns. Heat stress induced by high temperature has many adverse effects on animal physiology, especially in aquatic poikilotherms. Chinese mitten crab (Eriocheir sinensis) is sensitive to high temperatures, this study evaluated the harmful effects of heat stress on the neurotoxicity, intestinal health, microbial diversity, and metabolite profiles.
