O-hexyl O-2,5-dichlorophenyl phosphoramidate (HDCP) is a chiral analogous compound of the methamidophos insecticide that induces delayed neuropathy, and the R-(+)-HDCP enantiomer is an inhibitor of neuropathy target esterase (NTE). This enantiomer is not hydrolized by Ca-dependent phosphotriesterases in mammal tissues. Our group had reported R-(+)-HDCP hydrolysis in chicken serum enhanced by 30-250 μM copper in ex vivo assays, which we call "antagonistic stereoselectivity". We checked the hypothesis of the role of cupper binding proteins. Two hundred micrograms of human serum ceruloplasmine or horse kidney methallotionein in 1 mL containing 400 μM HDCP for 60 min showed no significant Cu-dependent hydrolysis. However under the same conditions, 10 μL of chicken serum or 10 μL of buffer containing 216 μg of chicken serum albumin (CSA) (amount of albumin content in this serum volume) with 100 μM Cu showed the same stereoselectivity and similar levels to the Cu-dependent R-(+)-HDCP hydrolysis. About 75% of R-(+)-HDCP were hydrolyzed after 120 min in the presence of 100 μM Cu (inhibited by 5 mM EDTA). No effects was observed by divalent cations Cu, Zn, Fe, Ca, Mn and Mg. These results confirm that albumin is the protein responsible for "antagonistic stereoselectivity" observed in chicken serum.

With increasing regulations restricting antibiotic use in animal feed, the need for alternative strategies to prevent and manage necrotic enteritis (NE) has become imperative. As a result, developing effective vaccines has emerged as a top priority for broiler chicken health management. Coccidial infections are a well-established predisposing factor for NE, underscoring the importance of controlling coccidiosis to help mitigate NE outbreaks.

Synbiotics, which synergistically enhance the development and activity of beneficial bacteria in the gastrointestinal tract, play a crucial role in the growth and production of chickens. However, their effects on lymphoid organs and immunity in Naked Neck (NN) chickens are not well understood. This experiment aimed to investigate the effects of synbiotics on growth performance, histo-architecture of lymphoid organs, hematology, serum biochemistry, and immunity in NN chickens in Bangladesh.

Background: Infectious bursal disease virus (IBDV) is a highly contagious immunosuppressive virus of chickens. Chickens acquire infection by the oral route under natural conditions. Although the histological and pathological changes after IBDV infection are well described, the alterations in serum metabolome have not been reported.

Retinoblastoma (RB) is an intraocular tumor arising from retinal cone progenitor cells affecting young children. In the last couple of years, RB treatment evolved towards eye preserving therapies. Therefore, investigating intratumoral differences and the RB tumor microenvironment (TME), regulating tumorigenesis and metastasis, is crucial.

This experiment aimed to investigate the effects of dietary metabolizable energy (ME) and crude protein (CP) levels and their interaction on the performance, meat quality, and cecal microbiota of Taihe Silky Fowl (Gallus gallus domesticus Brisson) during the growing period. A total of 2160 55-day-old Taihe Silky Fowl (half male and half female) were randomly divided into 9 groups with 6 replicates per group and 40 chickens per replicate. The fowl were fed with a 3 × 3 factor diet (ME: 11.
