The white shrimp Penaeus (Litopenaeus) vannamei is the most cultivated shrimp worldwide. Compared to other shrimp species, it has higher resistance to adverse conditions. During hypoxia, the shrimp reduces oxygen consumption and adjusts energy metabolism via anaerobic glycolysis, among other strategies.

Introduction: the tibial slope has been identified as one of the factors associated with graft failure after anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction; however, its relationship with functional results has been little studied. The main purpose of this study is to determine the effect of the tibial slope on functional recovery in patients undergoing reconstruction of the anterior cruciate ligament.
Material And Methods: we included patients with a diagnosis of anterior cruciate ligament injury undergoing primary reconstruction, from May 2018 to May 2019, who had a complete radiographic and clinical record; also, the scores from questionnaires of the International Knee Documentation Committee (IKDC) and Lysholm scores were collected pre surgical procedures and throughout the one-year follow-up.

The bacterial bipartite transferrin receptor is an iron acquisition system that several important human and animal pathogens require for survival. It consists of the TonB-dependent transporter transferrin binding protein A (TbpA) and the surface lipoprotein transferrin binding protein B (TbpB). Curiously, the Tbps are only found in host-specific pathogens and are themselves host specific, meaning that they will bind to the transferrin of their host species but not to the transferrins of other animal species.

MicroRNA-216b (miR-216b) has been reported to be downregulated in several tumors, its mechanism is still little-studied in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). In the present study, we found that miR-216b was downregulated in HCC, but Ubiquitin-specific peptidase 28 (USP28) was upregulated. In addition, Kaplan-Meier-plotter analysis indicated that liver cancer patients with high miR-216b expression had a longer overall survival, but patients with high USP28 had a shorter overall survival.
