Objectives: There is currently no reference standard test for the detection of the extra-esophageal manifestations of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). The current suite of diagnostic tests principally assesses reflux events in the esophagus. A new scintigraphic technique has been developed and validated against reference standards.

Background: Neuroendocrine tumours (NETs) are a group of cancers that can produce hormones and other metabolically active compounds. The majority of NETs have specific tissue characteristics, such as the expression of somatostatin receptors (SSTR). Metabolic testing with [99mTc]Tc-EDDA/HYNIC-Tyr3-octreotide ([99mTc]Tc-EDDA/HYNIC-TOC) can be used in patients with NETs to visualize the presence of receptors in different locations of pathological lesions, including the skeletal system.

Objective: The objective of this retrospective study was to identify the uptake patterns and suggest a quantitative method to detect hyperostosis frontalis interna (HFI) on fluorine-18 sodium fluoride ([ 18 F]NaF) PET/computed tomography (CT).
Methods: Between January 2019 and December 2021, patients who underwent [ 18 F]NaF PET/CT with a BMI of 30 and above, were included. Three nuclear medicine consultants reviewed the studies to determine the presence and identify the uptake patterns of HFI.

Redundant colon, also referred to as "dolichocolon," is an anatomical variant associated with elongation and redundancy thought to be associated with constipation, abdominal pain, and distention. Diagnosis requires radiological visualization of the non-dilated colon in situ via barium enema or abdominopelvic computed tomography (CT). Colonic redundancy is based on 3 criteria: sigmoid loop displaced cranially relative to the iliac crests (type 1); transverse colon caudal to the iliac crests (type 2); and redundant loops at the hepatic or splenic flexure (type 3).

In preparation for 90 Y radioembolization for hepatic malignancies, hepatic angiography is performed with intra-arterial delivery of 99m Tc-macroaggregated albumin (MAA), known as premapping. This initial procedure allows for evaluation of standard/variant hepatic arterial anatomy using MAA as a surrogate marker for the delivery of 90 Y to visualize the likely distribution of 90 Y. Premapping allows for the assessment of at-risk extrahepatic targets and for the quantification of hepatopulmonary shunting.
