The authors present an unusual case of bilateral macular choroidal infarction as a manifestation of giant cell arteritis (GCA). Due to sequential bilateral presentation, multimodal imaging with spectral-domain optical coherence tomography allows for simultaneous evaluation of progressive stages of outer retinal damage caused by choroidal hypoperfusion seen on fluorescein and indocyanine green angiography. This case report demonstrates that GCA should be considered in the differential diagnosis of placoid maculopathies. [Ophthalmic Surg Lasers Imaging Retina. 2018;49:540-543.].

: Amblyopia is a condition where children undergo unilateral or bilateral vision loss due to a variety of disorders that impact the visual pathway. The assessment of retinal nerve fiber layer (RNFL) thickness in amblyopia has made optical coherence tomography (OCT) a useful technique for studying the pathophysiology of this condition. This study was conducted to assess OCT results for various forms of amblyopia, including macular thickness and peripapillary RNFL thickness.

Background: To investigate whether patients with binocular reading inhibition due to central vision loss benefit from a new biofeedback (BF) rehabilitation method that aimed at improving fixation stability and at establishing a correspondence between the monocular preferred retinal loci (PRLs) on functioning retina in both eyes.
Methods: Thirty-three patients with bilateral macular disease and with binocular reading inhibition participated in 10 training sessions consisting of 10-min visual stimulation for each eye to stabilize fixation and relocate the PRL (if needed) using the BF module of the MP-1 microperimeter (Nidek Technologies Srl., Vigonza, PD, Italy).

The aim of this study was to investigate the locational distribution and potential mechanisms of retinal hemorrhages in newborns using fundus photography. A retrospective analysis of 98 consecutive newborns with retinal hemorrhages in at least one eye and 30 control newborns without retinal hemorrhages after uneventful delivery was conducted. Retinal hemorrhages were diagnosed and characterized using fundus photography and indirect ophthalmoscopy.

Purpose: To report a case of persistent bilateral sclerouveitis following bilateral bimatoprost implantation (Durysta) that required implant removal and oral steroid course.
Observation: A 75-year-old Caucasian male with no prior ocular inflammation experienced bilateral sclerouveitis post bilateral bimatoprost implantation. Despite implant removal from both eyes, the ocular inflammation persisted, showing cystoid macular edema in both eyes and exudative retinal detachment in the right.
