Childhood maltreatment exposure (CME) increases the risk of adverse long-term health consequences for the exposed individual. Animal studies suggest that CME may also influence the health and behaviour in the next generation offspring through CME-driven epigenetic changes in the germ line. Here we investigated the associated between early life stress on the epigenome of sperm in humans with history of CME.

Background: Large language models have shown remarkable efficacy in various medical research and clinical applications. However, their skills in medical image recognition and subsequent report generation or question answering (QA) remain limited.
Objective: We aim to finetune a multimodal, transformer-based model for generating medical reports from slit lamp images and develop a QA system using Llama2.

The management of end-of-life wind-turbine blades in the coming years will be necessary, as a clear solution for their recycling is yet to be found due to their complex composition. The suitability of their mechanical recycling is therefore evaluated in this paper, obtaining Raw-Crushed Wind-Turbine Blade (RCWTB) for subsequent incorporation in high amounts of up to 10% vol. in concrete, replacing the aggregates to achieve Fiber-Reinforced Concrete (FRC).

High-energy extensions to general relativity modify the Einstein-Hilbert action with higher-order curvature corrections and theory-specific coupling constants. The order of these corrections imprints a universal curvature dependence on observations while the coupling constant controls the deviation strength. In this Letter, we leverage the theory-independent expectation that modifications to the action of a given order in spacetime curvature (Riemann tensor and contractions) lead to observational deviations that scale with the system length scale to a corresponding power.
