, or "RiXiangGui", is an ornamental, woody, evergreen plant that is cultivated widely because it blooms recurrently and emits a strong fragrance. Recently, the germplasm resources, classification, and aroma compositions of . have been investigated. However, the molecular mechanisms of the floral scent formation and regulation have remained largely unknown. To obtain a global perspective on the molecular mechanism of the aroma formation during blooming, nine RNA Sequencing (RNA-Seq) libraries were constructed from three flowering stages: The initial, full, and final flowering stage. In short, a total of 523,961,310 high-quality clean reads were assembled into 136,611unigenes, with an average sequence length of 792 bp. About 47.43% of the unigenes (64,795) could be annotated in the NCBI non-redundant protein database. A number of candidate genes were identified in the terpenoid metabolic pathways and 1327 transcription factors (TFs), which showed differential expression patterns among the floral scent formation stages, were also identified, especially , , , and , which could play critical roles in the floral scent formation. These results indicated that the floral scent formation of . was a very complex process which involved a large number of TFs. This study provides reliable resources for further studies of the floral scent formation.

Angraecum sesquipedale, also known as Darwin's orchid, possesses an exceptionally long nectar spur. Charles Darwin predicted the orchid to be pollinated by a hawkmoth with a correspondingly long proboscis, later identified as Xanthopan praedicta. In this plant-pollinator interaction, the A.

The small flowers of Myosotis scorpioides are pollinated by various groups of insects feeding on their nectar accumulating at the base of the corolla tube. To date, only few studies have focused on the anatomy and ultrastructure of nectaries in plants from the family Boraginaceae. The aim of this study was to analyse the structure of the M.

Article Synopsis
  • A study was conducted on four common seedless grape varieties in China—Kyoho, Summer Black, Moldovan, and Sweet Sapphire—to compare their sensory properties and overall quality against commercially available Concord juice.
  • Kyoho and Sweet Sapphire had optimal Brix-acid ratios, while Kyoho also showed the highest aroma intensity with floral and fruity notes compared to Sweet Sapphire's grassy scent.
  • Concord juice emerged as the best option for color and aroma, with recommendations for blending Summer Black with Kyoho to enhance the overall quality of grape juice.

Ginger, as a globally vital medicinal and food homologous crop, plays an irreplaceable role in human diet and healthcare. However, during the storage of ginger, the decline of physical properties and degradation of volatile flavor quality have emerged as an industrial concern that severely restricts the market value of the product. MeJA plays an essential role in extending fruit shelf life and regulate the synthesis of volatiles in horticultural products, yet its application in ginger remains unreported.
