Introduction: Dislocation of the radial head in adults is quite uncommon. A simultaneous dislocation of the radial head with a fracture of ipsilateral shaft radius without any other associated injury is even rare.

Case Presentation: We are reporting a case of a young adult male who was operated for proximal one-third radial shaft fracture at some peripheral centre by Open Reduction and Internal Fixation (ORIF), but came to our centre on the fourth post-operative day with complaints of painful restricted movements of the elbow joint. On careful look at the postoperative x-ray, radial head was found to be dislocated. Radial head dislocation was reduced under general anesthesia and at 2 years follow up, patient fracture has fully united having good functional outcome.

Conclusion: Traumatic dislocation of radial head with ipsilateral fracture shaft radius is a rare injury in adults and it is very important to timely diagnose it and manage it appropriately in order to give good functional outcome to the patient.

Many details of the operation of the mammalian cochlea are known, but how they all work together to produce cochlear amplification is not understood. Outer-hair-cell (OHC) motility produces two kinds of amplification: non-propagating amplification (NPA) that is from local OHCs, and traveling-wave amplification (TWA) that increases basilar-membrane (BM) motion. Proposed here are a series of hypotheses that provide a new explanation, the "OoC-area-pump", for TWA: (1) In the short-wave region OHC vibrations cause cyclic longitudinal motion of fluid in the organ of Corti (OoC) and peri-Deiters-cell tissue, (2) the longitudinal motion changes the local OoC area, which (3) by reticular-lamina (RL) movement drives the fluid in scala media in a way that amplifies the fluid-pressure traveling wave.

Purpose: Diffusing alpha-emitters Radiation Therapy ("Alpha DaRT") is a new cancer treatment modality that employs radium-224-loaded metal sources implanted in solid tumors to disperse alpha-emitting atoms within a therapeutic "kill-zone" of a few millimeters around each source. Preclinical studies have demonstrated tumor growth delay in various cancer types, including glioblastoma multiforme, and the method is used in clinical trials for patients with skin and head and neck cancer.
