Introduction: Monitoring the morphological features of the gestational sac (GS) and measuring the mean sac diameter (MSD) during early pregnancy are essential for predicting spontaneous miscarriage and estimating gestational age (GA). However, the manual process is labor-intensive and highly dependent on the sonographer's expertise. This study aims to develop an automated pipeline to assist sonographers in accurately segmenting the GS and estimating GA.

Purpose: Accurately predicting the expected duration of time until total knee replacement (time-to-TKR) is crucial for patient management and health care planning. Predicting when surgery may be needed, especially within shorter windows like 3 years, allows clinicians to plan timely interventions and health care systems to allocate resources more effectively. Existing models lack the precision for such time-based predictions.

Atrial fibrillation (AF), the most prevalent sustained cardiac arrhythmia, is intricately linked with atrial functional tricuspid regurgitation (AFTR), a condition distinguished from ventricular functional tricuspid regurgitation by its unique pathophysiological mechanisms and clinical implications. This review article delves into the multifaceted aspects of AFTR, exploring its epidemiology, pathophysiology, diagnostic evaluation, and management strategies. Further, we elucidate the mechanisms underlying AFTR, including tricuspid annular dilatation, right atrial enlargement, and dysfunction, which collectively contribute to the development of tricuspid regurgitation in the absence of significant pulmonary hypertension or left-sided heart disease.

Meiosis, endoreplication, and asynthetic fissions are variations of the canonical cell cycle where either replication or mitotic divisions are muted. Here, we identify a cell cycle variantconserved across organs and mammals, where both replication and mitosis are muted, and that orchestrates the differentiation of post-mitotic progenitors into multiciliated cells (MCCs). MCC progenitors reactivate most of the cell cycle transcriptional program but replace the temporal expression of cyclins E2 and A2 with non-canonical cyclins O and A1.

Elevated lactate concentrations are implicated in various acute and chronic diseases, such as sepsis and mitochondrial dysfunction, respectively. Conversely, ineffective lactate clearance is associated with poor clinical prognoses and high mortality in these diseases. While several groups have proposed using small molecule inhibitors and enzyme replacement to reduce circulating lactate, there are few practical and effective ways to manage this condition.
