Objective: Describing the current panorama on the production of experimental studies related to the gestational period.

Method: A bibliometric descriptive study using a quantitative approach. The data collection was performed in the International Clinical Trials Registry Platform in the month of October 2016. A descriptive statistical analysis was conducted after reading the abstracts and summarizing the material.

Results: The sample consisted of 33 studies registered in the period from 2007 to 2016. The Southeast Region concentrated 48.5% of the studies. Regarding the subjects covered, 33.1% of the total refer to physical activities during pregnancy and to perineal exercises to strengthen the pelvic floor musculature.

Conclusion: The study showed us the panorama of the experimental studies focused on the gestational period, serving as support and incentive for performing further studies with a high level of evidence, which can impact the care provided to this population.

Nitrenes (R-N) have been subject to a large body of experimental and theoretical studies. The fundamental reactivity of this important class of transient intermediates has been attributed to their electronic structures, particularly the accessibility of triplet vs singlet states. In contrast, electronic structure trends along the heavier pnictinidene analogues (R-Pn; Pn = P-Bi) are much less systematically explored.

Citrate in autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease: biomarker or therapeutic agent?

Curr Opin Nephrol Hypertens

March 2025

Nephrology Division, Universidade Federal de São Paulo (UNIFESP), São Paulo, Brazil.

Purpose Of Review: This review highlights the latest findings regarding hypocitraturia in autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease (ADPKD), from both experimental and clinical studies, exploring the underlying pathophysiology and potential therapeutic approach.

Recent Findings: Experimental studies have shown that the lodging of microcrystals in the tubules can trigger cyst formation and growth in polycystic kidney disease (PKD). ADPKD patients are prone to developing hypocitraturia in early stages, which could predispose to calcium microcrystal formation.

Thiophene and pyrrole units are extensively utilized in light-responsive materials and have significantly advanced the field of organic photovoltaics (OPV). This progress has inspired our exploration of photosensitizers (PS) for photodynamic therapy (PDT). Currently, traditional PS face limitations in clinical application, including a restricted variety and narrow applicability.
