Background/aims: Androgen and its receptor (AR) play an important role in maintaining spermatogenesis and male fertility. Our previous studies showed that testosterone at a physiological concentration induces cytoplasmic AR translocation to the Sertoli cell plasma membrane of within 5 minutes.
Methods: In this study, mass spectrometry (MS) and bioinformatic analyses were applied to identify candidate proteins mediating AR trafficking. The candidate proteins were knocked down by shRNA transfection.
Results: Nine candidate proteins were identified by MS. The data was verified by co-immunoprecipitation and Western blot. Of the candidates, CSN6 regulated AR transport through the phosphorylation signaling pathway and Rab34 affected AR trafficking by regulating Ras activity.
Conclusions: CSN6 and Rab34 are involved in AR trafficking by regulating the phosphorylation signaling pathway. These findings provide new insights into the testosterone signaling pathway in Sertoli cells that mediates spermatogenesis.

Background: Prostate cancer (PCa) is commonly occurred among males worldwide and its prognosis could be influenced by biochemical recurrence (BCR). MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are functional regulators in carcinogenesis, and miR-221-3p was reported as one of the significant candidates deregulated in PCa. However, its regulatory pattern in PCa BCR across literature reports was not consistent, and the targets and mechanisms in PCa malignant transition and BCR are less explored.

Background: Space-induced plant mutagenesis, driven by cosmic radiation, offers a promising approach for the selective breeding of new plant varieties. By leveraging the unique environment of outer space, we successfully induced mutagenesis in 'Deqin' alfalfa and obtained a fast-growing mutant. However, the molecular mechanisms underlying its rapid growth remain poorly unexplored.

Several mungbean (Vigna radiata (L.) Wilczek) cultivars are susceptible to Cercospora leaf spot (CLS) caused by Cercospora canescens Ellis & Martin, and it is necessary to explore resistance sources and understand resistance mechanisms. However, the CLS resistance mechanisms have not yet been explored.

With the advancement of biotechnology in the marine industry, an increasing utilization of marine ingredients in skincare products has been observed in recent years. Encapsulating Artemia franciscana extract and its derivatives in a novel phospholipid vesicle called hyalurosome presents innovative strategies for drug delivery systems and anti-aging products. In this study, we developed nano hyalurosomes containing Artemia franciscana active components.

Background: Cancer presents a significant global health challenge, necessitating effective treatment strategies. While chemotherapy is widely employed, its non-specific nature can induce adverse effects on normal cells, prompting the exploration of targeted therapies. The 1,2,4-triazole scaffold has emerged as a promising element in anticancer drug development due to its structural diversity and potential to target cancer cells.
