(1) Background: Delirium is a serious condition in patients undergoing treatment for somatic diseases, leading to poor prognosis. However, the pathophysiology of delirium is not fully understood and should be clarified for its adequate treatment. This study analyzed the relationship between confusion symptoms in delirium and resting-state electroencephalogram (EEG) power spectrum (PS) profiles to investigate the heterogeneity.

Background/objectives: In this study, the potential effects are evaluated of epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) on the prognosis of diabetes and insulin resistance.
Methods: In an experiment, 35 male Wistar albino rats were used and in the streptozotocin (STZ)-induced diabetic rats, the effects were examined of different doses (50 mg/kg, 100 mg/kg, 200 mg/kg) of EGCG on metabolic parameters associated with diabetes and insulin resistance.
Results: The findings show favorable effects of EGCG on fasting blood glucose levels, insulin secretion, insulin resistance, and beta cell function.

Background: 5-Fluorouracil (5-FU) is a common chemotherapeutic medication used to treat cancer. However, the intestinal tract may sustain oxidative damage as a result.
Objectives: The purpose of this study was to clarify the underlying molecular mechanisms and examine the preventive benefits of cereal-based fermented drinks (CFBs) against intestinal injury in mice caused by 5-FU.

Background/objectives: Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is a chronic gastrointestinal disorder with debilitating symptoms and multifactorial etiology. Nutritional factors during adult life have been implicated in IBD pathogenesis. In addition, there is growing evidence that maternal and early-life diet may be associated with intestinal inflammation and colitis severity.

Background: The Geriatric Nutritional Risk Index (GNRI) has shown promising potential for identifying individuals at risk for osteoporosis in various patient cohorts. However, data from the general population confirming or refuting the usefulness of the GNRI as a risk factor for osteoporosis are sparse. We therefore aimed to clarify whether the GNRI is associated with the ultrasound-based bone stiffness index and the osteoporotic fracture risk in a sample of elderly men and women from the general population.
