Phytosynthesis of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) using leaf extract of () was the focus of this research work. The -AgNPs were characterized by UV-Vis spectroscopy, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and selected area electron diffraction (SAED) study. Studies were made on the AgNPs for antibacterial, antifungal, anticoagulant, free-radical scavenging, and hydrogen peroxide scavenging activities. The crystalline -AgNPs were monodispersed, with a size range of 16.70-33.74 nm and maximum absorption at 410 nm. FTIR analysis displayed prominent peaks at 3430.6, 1711.8, and 1165.9/cm, which showed the existence of phenolic compounds and proteins in the synthesis of AgNPs. -AgNPs was active against , , and , with 100% inhibition. The -AgNPs also displayed good antifungal properties, as the concentrations of 100 and 150 µg/mL had 100% inhibition toward and . However, there was 66.67% inhibition of . It scavenged both DPPH and HO by 70.69 and 89.02%, respectively. -AgNPs also prevented the coagulation of human blood. This study, being the first of its kind to use the leaf extract of for the synthesis of AgNPs has shown that -AgNPs can find biomedical applications.

One way to treat diabetes mellitus type II is by using α-glucosidase inhibitor, that will slow down the postprandial glucose intake. Metabolomics analysis of Artabotrys sumatranus leaf extract was used in this research to predict the active compounds as α-glucosidase inhibitors from this extract. Both multivariate statistical analysis and machine learning approaches were used to improve the confidence of the predictions.

Medicinal plants often harbour various endophytic actinomycetia, which are well known for their potent antimicrobial properties and plant growth-promoting traits. In this study, we isolated an endophytic actinomycetia, A13, from the leaves of tea clone P312 from the MEG Tea Estate, Meghalaya, India. The isolate A13 was identified as Streptomyces sp.

Green synthesis of nanoparticles (NPs) is preferred for its affordability and environmentally friendly approach. This study explored the synthesis and characterization of silver NPs (AgNPs) and examined their impact on the growth of Zea mays, both alone and in combination with nickel chloride (NiCl). A methanolic leaf extract was combined with silver nitrate to synthesize AgNPs.
