Wind turbine control is critical in power generation from wind, thus assuring great efficiency and cost-effectiveness. This has been a subject of intense research, and its advancements are critical to developing even better and efficient wind turbines. This research looks at several passive flow control mechanisms for horizontal wind turbines.

Atmospheric turbulence introduces random disturbances that degrade and distort images of observed targets as light propagates through the atmosphere. Although numerous algorithms have been developed to restore images degraded by turbulence, most of these algorithms lack sufficient generalization and are limited to specific application scenarios or fixed atmospheric turbulence intensities. In this paper, we propose an Atmospheric Turbulence Restoration Network (ATRN), a two-stage algorithm based on multi-frame information fusion.

Our study introduces a pioneering underwater single-pixel imaging approach that employs an orbital angular momentum (OAM) basis as a sampling scheme and a dual-attention residual U-Net generative adversarial network (DARU-GAN) as reconstruction algorithm. This method is designed to address the challenges of low sampling rates and high turbidity typically encountered in underwater environments. The integration of the OAM-basis sampling scheme and the improved reconstruction network not only enhances reconstruction quality but also ensures robust generalization capabilities, effectively restoring underwater target images even under the stringent conditions of a 3.

A high-speed entanglement assisted communication that operates at 10 Gb/s is proposed, which performs a highly efficient, PPLN-waveguide-based, entanglement generation by making the simultaneous use of S- and L-band pumps. The two-pump-based entanglement generation source satisfies the quasi-phase-matching-condition over the entire C-band. To improve the system reliability, our system performs the phase-conjugation on idler photons in contrast to conventional ways of performing the phase-conjugation on signal photons.

The corrosion of low-alloy steel in ethanolamine solution, simulating steam generator chemistry, is studied by in situ chronopotentiometry and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy combined with ex situ analysis of the obtained oxide films and model calculations. Hydrodynamic calculations of the proposed setup to study flow-assisted corrosion demonstrate that turbulent conditions are achieved. Quantum chemical calculations indicate the adsorption orientation of ethanolamine on the oxide surface.
