Choroid neovascularization (CNV) is a distinct type of age-related macular degeneration (AMD) with a poor prognosis and responsible for the majority of vision loss in the elderly population. The laser-induced CNV model is a well-established animal model frequently used to study CNV. In this study, we performed an integrated analysis of metabolomic and transcriptomic data from CNV samples, utilizing multiple approaches including single-sample gene set enrichment analysis (ssGSEA), correlation analysis, and weighted gene co-expression network analysis (WGCNA), alongside various bioinformatics platforms, to identify key metabolic and immune signatures and to investigate their interplay during angiogenesis.

Background: Uveal melanoma (UM), arising from melanocytes in the choroid, accounts for 3% to 5% of all melanocytic tumors and over 70% of intraocular malignancies. Despite effective local treatments, metastasis remains a significant challenge, with more than half of patients developing metastatic disease within ten years. Conventional therapies often yield poor outcomes, highlighting the urgent need for novel therapeutic strategies to enhance survival and prognosis for UM patients.

Purpose: To access the distribution of choroidal vein drainage pattern and the choroidal vein alterations in choroidal vascular hyperpermeability (CVH) areas in eyes with acute and chronic central serous chorioretinopathy (CSC) using widefield indocyanine green angiography (WF-ICGA).
Methods: In this retrospective observational study, medical records and multimodal imaging of 127 patients (165 eyes) with CSC were reviewed. The number and location of dominant vortex veins and CVH areas on WF-ICGA images were evaluated.

Retina-derived growth signals relayed from the choroid to the sclera cause remodeling of the extracellular scleral matrix, resulting in myopic ocular elongation. However, to the best of our knowledge, no studies have assessed changes in choroidal stromal biomechanical properties during myopia progression. Here we utilized 7 µm-resolution scanning acoustic microscopy (SAM) to assess biomechanical properties (bulk modulus (K) and mass density (rho)) of choroidal stroma from guinea pig eyes with form-deprivation (FD) induced myopia.
