Highly effective hydroboration precatalyst is developed based on a cobalt(II)-terpyridine coordination polymer (CP). The hydroboration of ketones, aldehydes, and imines with pinacolborane (HBpin) has been achieved using the recyclable CP catalyst in the presence of an air-stable activator. A wide range of substrates containing polar C═O or C═N bonds have been hydroborated selectively in excellent yields under ambient conditions.

Advancements in printing techniques are essential for fabricating next-generation displays. Lead halide perovskites demonstrate great potential as light emitters of solution-processed light-emitting diodes (LEDs). In particular, the perovskite/polymer composite emitters exhibit exceptional luminescent characteristics, mechanical flexibility, and environmental stability due to the improved film morphologies and defect passivation achieved through the introduction of polymer additives.

Background: Repairing composite resins is a less invasive alternative to complete restoration replacement. To achieve a successful bond between the existing and newly applied composite materials, various surface preparation methods, such as sandblasting and acid etching, have been explored. The aim of the study was to evaluate the effect of different surface treatments on the repair bond strength of a universal nanohybrid composite resin restorative material before and after thermal aging, by utilizing a micro-shear bond strength (µSBS) test.

Dual-atom catalysts featuring synergetic dinuclear active sites, have the potential of breaking the linear scaling relationship of the well-established single-atom catalysts for oxygen reduction reaction; however, the design of dual-atom catalysts with rationalized local microenvironment for high activity and selectivity remains a great challenge. Here we design a bisalphen ladder polymer with well-defined densely populated binuclear cobalt sites on Ketjenblack substrates. The strong electron coupling effect between the fully-conjugated ladder structure and carbon substrates enhances the electron transfer between the cobalt center and oxygen intermediates, inducing the low-to-high spin transition for the 3d electron of Co(II).

Current conventional wound dressings used for wound healing are often characterized by restricted bioactivity and devoid of multifunctionality resulting in suboptimal treatment and prolonged healing. Despite recent advances, the simultaneous incorporation of excellent flexibility, good mechanical performance, self-healing, bioactivity, and adhesion properties into the dressings without complicating their efficacy while maintaining simple synthesis remains a grand challenge. Herein, we effectively synthesized hybrid hydrogels of cellulose nanofiber (CNF), polyvinyl alcohol (PVA), and curcumin-modified silver nanoparticles (cAg) through a one-step synthesis method based on hydrogen bonds, dynamic boronic ester bonds, and coordinate covalent bonds.

Crystalline organic semiconductors, recognized for their highly ordered structures and high carrier mobility, have emerged as a focal point in the field of high-performance optoelectronic devices. Nevertheless, the intrinsic unipolar properties, characterized by imbalanced hole and electron transport capabilities, have continuously represented a significant challenge in the advancement of high-performance crystalline thin-film organic light-emitting diodes (C-OLEDs). Here, a bipolar solid-solution thin film with a maintained crystal structure has been fabricated using 2-(4-(9H-carbazol-9-yl)phenyl)-1(3,5-difluorophenyl)-1H-phenanthro [9,10-d]imidazole (2FPPICz) and 4-(1-(3,5-difluorophenyl)-1H-imidazo[4,5-][1,10]phenanthrolin-2-yl)-N,N-diphenylaniline (2Fn) via a weak epitaxial growth (WEG) process, exhibiting nearly equivalent hole and electron mobilities (10-10 cm V s).
