strain ACM941 is a fungal bio-control agent patented against the causative agent of Fusarium Head Blight, . Although the molecular details remain enigmatic, previous studies have suggested that may secrete growth inhibitors. Further toward this, experiments described herein show that induction of cultures by the addition of an aliquot of -spent media (including macroconidia), yield -spent media that elicited higher anti- activity than either control or deoxynivalenol (DON)-induced -spent media. To gain additional insight into the genetic and metabolic factors modulating this interaction, transcriptomic (RNAseq) profiles of in response to DON and spent media treatment, were developed. This analysis revealed 24,112 unigenes, of which 5,605 and 6,285 were differentially regulated by DON and spent media, respectively. More than half of these unigenes were up-regulated, with annotations, most notably in the -spent media treatment data, suggesting enhancement of polyketide (PK) and non-ribosomal peptide (NRP) secondary metabolite precursor synthesis, and PK/NRP-like synthases. Four ABC transporters were also up-regulated in response to spent media. Further analysis showed that the PK and NRP-like synthases belong to three gene clusters that also include ABC transporters, and other genes known to tailor secondary metabolite biosynthesis. The RNAseq data was further validated using quantitative RT-qPCR. Taken together, these results show that responds to the presence of -spent media (and to a lesser extent, DON-alone) by up-regulating unique aspects of its secondary metabolism-related genetic repertoire. The identities and roles of secondary metabolites produced by the targeted gene clusters are now under investigation.

Energy poverty affects 550,000 homes in the Netherlands yet policy interventions to alleviate this issue are rare. Therefore, we test two energy coaching interventions in Amsterdam: a static information group (n = 67) which received energy efficient products and one energy-use report, and a smart information group (n = 50), which also had a display providing real-time feedback on energy-use. Results across both groups, show a 75% success rate for alleviating energy poverty.

Introduction: Digital trials are a promising strategy to increase the evidence base for common interventions and may convey considerable efficiency benefits in trial conduct. Although paediatric intensive care units (PICUs) are rich in routine electronic data, highly pragmatic digital trials in this field remain scarce. There are unmet evidence needs for optimal mechanical ventilation modes in paediatric intensive care.

: To assess the ploidy status of embryos via preimplantation genetic testing for aneuploidy (PGT-A), a biopsy of trophectoderm (TE) cells can be performed. However, this approach is considered invasive, and therefore the aim of this study was to identify the optimal sample type and sampling day for non-invasive or minimally invasive PGT-A (ni/miPGT-A) in terms of data quality and concordance rates with TE biopsies derived from the same embryos. : This study was performed using 239 embryo cultures.

Extracellular vesicles (EVs) are lipid bilayer-bound particles released from cells that cannot replicate on their own, play a crucial role in intercellular communication, and are implicated in various physiological and pathological processes. Within the domain of embryo culture media research, extensive studies have been conducted to evaluate embryo viability by analyzing spent culture medium. Advanced methodologies such as metabolomic profiling, proteomic and genomic analyses, transcriptomic profiling, non-coding RNA assessments, and oxidative status measurements have been employed to further understand the molecular characteristics of embryos and improve selection criteria for successful implantation.
