Objective: To observe the effects of core strength training on the body balance of middle-aged men, which could provide evidence for improving the body balance and reducing the risk of falls in the middle-aged men.

Methods: Sixteen 50~60 years old men were randomly divided into experimental group (core strength training, =8) and control group(=8). Intermittent core strength trainings were used for dynamic and static training, push-pull training and unarmed lower limb strength training by suspension ropes and yoga mat. The time for training was 50~60 min/day, 4~5 times/week for a total of 10 weeks. The men in control group remained their original living habits. We measured the ability of body static balance and dynamic balance before and after the core strength training.

Results: ① Compared with before exercise training, both closed single foot standing time and the body dynamic balance were increased significantly in the experimental group after exercise training(<0.01)(10.63±1.69 s 9.00±2.27 s; 77.38±10.94 89.50±5.53). ② Compared with before exercise training, star excursion balance test(SEBT) values were significantly increased in the left leg(the right leg support) in eight directions and the right leg(the left leg support)in six directions (<0.01).

Conclusions: Ten-week core strength training can significantly increase the body static and dynamic balance in the middle-aged men.

A Silicon-containing Oligomeric Charring Agent (CNCSi-DA) containing triazine rings and silicon was designed, synthesized and characterized. CNCSi-DA was chosen as macromolecular coating agent to modify Ammonium Polyphosphate (APP) to be core-shell coating-mixture (APP@CNCSi-DA). The synergistic effects of APP@CNCSi-DA on hydrophobicity, mechanical and flame retardant properties, and mechanism of flame-retardant polypropylene (PP) were studied.

Department of Sports Studies, Faculty of Educational Studies, Universiti Putra Malaysia, Selangor, Malaysia.

Background: Plyometric training (PT) was explored as an effective intervention for enhancing muscle strength and power. However, its specific impact on these attributes in martial arts athletes had not been systematically evaluated. Therefore, the objective of this meta-analysis was to provide a quantitative assessment of the impact of PT on muscle strength and power in martial arts athletes.

Background: Evidence-based mental health requires patient-relevant outcome data, but many indicators lack clinical meaning and fail to consider youth perceptions. The minimally important change (MIC) indicator designates change as meaningful to patients, yet is rarely reported in youth mental health trials.

Objective: This study aimed to establish MIC thresholds for two patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs), the Columbia Impairment Scale (CIS) and the Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire (SDQ), using different estimation methods.

Jayhawk Athletic Performance Laboratory-Wu Tsai Human Performance Alliance, Department of Health, Sport and Exercise Sciences, University of Kansas, Lawrence, KS 66045, USA.

Objectives: The purpose of this study was twofold: (a) to profile body composition and physical fitness characteristics of collegiate American football starters and (b) to examine differences in key performance indicators across position groups. These indicators included select measures of body composition, joint kinematics, as well as muscular strength and power.

Methods: Sixteen National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division-II American football athletes (age: 22.

Background: Prostate cancer (PC) is the most frequently diagnosed cancer in men and continues to be a major cause of cancer-related mortality worldwide. In recent years, non-coding RNAs (ncRNAs) have emerged as a significant focus in molecular biology research, playing a pivotal role in the development and progression of PC. This study employed bibliometric analysis to explore the global outputs, research hotspots, and future trends in ncRNA-related PC research over the past 20 years.
