Background: One of the key steps in arthroscopic Anterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction (ACLR) is getting the femoral tunnel at the right position to attach the graft. While the correct position has been described as a low and posterior position behind the bifurcate ridge on the medial surface of lateral femoral condyle, to reproducibly achieve it more than one technique is being used by surgeons. There are no randomized studies in literature which have evaluated the efficacy of these in a surgeon's hand.

Xijing Hospital of Digestive Diseases, Air Force Medical University, Xi'an710032, China.

Article Synopsis
  • Acute variceal bleeding (AVB) remains a serious complication of cirrhotic portal hypertension, with a hospitalization rate declining due to advanced medical technology, yet in-hospital mortality rates still range from 0% to 32% depending on cirrhosis severity.
  • The overall mortality from AVB has improved significantly, dropping from 50% to 15%-20% over the past thirty years.
  • The article emphasizes the importance of risk stratification and individualized treatment for AVB patients, given the varied risk of death based on the severity of cirrhosis.

Air pollutants, specifically, Sulphur Dioxide (SO) and Nitrogen Dioxide (NO) cause numerous biochemical changes in plants; by studying the biochemical parameters, plant resistance against these pollutants can be evaluated. The effect of air pollutants on biochemical parameters such as ascorbic acid (AA), total chlorophyll (TC), pH and the relative water content (RWC) of leaves has been investigated in the present study. The objective of the present study was to observe the relationship between biochemical parameters of plants and ambient air pollutants (SO and NO).

Background: Transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt (TIPS) is recommended for treating recurrent and refractory ascites. However, determining the target portal pressure gradient (PPG) has been inconclusive. This multicentre cohort study explored the post-TIPS PPG potential range associated with improving survival.

Objective: To compare the image quality and lesion conspicuity of conventional vs deep learning (DL)-based reconstructed three-dimensional T1-weighted images in gadoxetic acid-enhanced liver magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).

Methods: This prospective study (NCT05182099) enrolled participants scheduled for gadoxetic acid-enhanced liver MRI due to suspected focal liver lesions (FLLs) who provided signed informed consent. A liver MRI was conducted using a 3-T scanner.
