Purpose: This study analyzes whether there are time patterns in different intimate partner violence (IPV) indicators and aims to obtain models that can predict the behavior of these time series.

Methods: Univariate autoregressive moving average models were used to analyze the time series corresponding to the number of daily calls to the 016 telephone IPV helpline and the number of daily police reports filed in the Community of Madrid during the period 2008-2015. Predictions were made for both dependent variables for 2016.

Results: The daily number of calls to the 016 telephone IPV helpline decreased during January 2008-April 2012 and increased during April 2012-December 2015. No statistically significant change was observed in the trend of the number of daily IPV police reports. The number of IPV police reports filed increased on weekends and on Christmas holidays. The number of calls to the 016 IPV help line increased on Mondays. Using data from 2008 to 2015, the univariate autoregressive moving average models predicted 64.2% of calls to the 016 telephone IPV helpline and 73.2% of police reports filed during 2016 in the Community of Madrid.

Conclusions: Our results suggest the need for an increase in police and judicial resources on nonwork days. Also, the 016 telephone IPV helpline should be especially active on work days.

Background: Survival of victims of out-of-hospital cardiopulmonary arrest (CA) is related to the time and quality of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).1 Considering that most CAs occur outside the hospital setting, it is evident that the early recognition of this condition is the cornerstone of the chain of survival. Current literature on the theme is still scarce.

  • The national early warning score (NEWS) aims to enhance the detection and assessment of severe acute illnesses in NHS patients, specifically evaluating its effectiveness for cardiac surgery patients.
  • A study of 3710 adult cardiac surgery patients assessed how well a NEWS trigger score of 5 predicted patient deterioration and outcomes after surgery, finding that 4.4% of patients prompted Critical Care Outreach Team (CCOT) calls.
  • Results showed higher in-hospital mortality rates for patients referred to the CCOT (10.5%) compared to those not referred (3.9%), indicating a need for tailored scoring systems for better patient outcomes in cardiac care.

  • - The study aimed to assess the impact of adding core stability exercises (CSE) to standard exercises (SE) in total knee arthroplasty (TKA) patients using telerehabilitation (TR) to improve outcomes.
  • - Two groups were compared: one received only SE, and the other received both SE and CSE, with various assessments conducted before and after surgery to evaluate functioning, pain, range of motion, strength, and quality of life.
  • - Results showed that both groups improved significantly, but the SE+CSE group had greater benefits in function, pain relief, knee extension, quality of life, muscle strength, and overall performance, suggesting the value of incorporating CSE into TR programs for TKA patients
