In this study, nano iron (nano-Fe) was successfully synthesized by sodium borohydride reduction of ferric chloride solution to enhance the ultrasonic degradation of phenolsulfonphthalein (PSP). The nano-Fe was characterized by scanning electron microscopy - energy dispersive spectroscopy (SEM-EDX), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), powder X-ray diffraction (XRD), attenuated total reflection - Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (ATR-FTIR), and Brunauer, Emmett and Teller (BET) surface area determination. Experimental results demonstrated that a combined ultrasonic/nano-Fe/HO system was more effective for PSP removal in combination than they were individually and there was a significant difference between the combined and single processes. The ultrasonic/nano-Fe/HO degradation follows the Langmuir-Hinshelwood (L-H) kinetic model. The addition of nano-Fe and HO to the ultrasonic reactor greatly accelerated the degradation of PSP (25 mg/L) from 12.5% up to 96.5%. These findings indicated that ultrasonic degradation in the presence of nano-Fe and HO is a promising and efficient technique for the elimination of emerging micropollutants from aqueous solution.

Atopic dermatitis (AD) is a chronic inflammatory skin condition characterized by dry skin, severe itching, redness, and inflammation. Its complex etiology, involving genetic, immunological, and environmental factors, necessitates innovative therapeutic approaches. This study investigates nanostructured lipid carriers (NLCs) formulated with traditional fermented coconut (Cocos nucifera L.

Background: A number of immunotherapeutic approaches have been developed and are entering the clinic. Bispecific antibodies (BsAbs) are one of these modalities and induce robust efficacy by endogenous T cells in several hematological malignancies. However, most of the treated patients experience only a temporary benefit.

Recently, exposure to sounds with ultrasound (US) components has been shown to modulate brain activity. However, the effects of US on emotional states remain poorly understood. We previously demonstrated that the olfactory bulbectomized (OBX) rat depression model is suitable for examining the effects of audible sounds on emotionality.

Carbon steel and low alloy steel are pearlitic heat-resistant steels with a lamellar microstructure. There are good mechanical properties and are widely used in crucial components of high-temperature pressure. However, long-term service in high-temperature environments can easily lead to material degradation, including spheroidization, graphitization, and thermal aging.

Background: Myocardial ischemia-reperfusion (I/R) injury refers to cell damage that occurs as a consequence of the restoration of blood circulation following reperfusion therapy for cardiovascular diseases, and it is a primary cause of myocardial infarction. The search for nove therapeutic targets in the context of I/R injury is currently a highly active area of research. p70 ribosomal S6 kinase (S6K1) plays an important role in I/R induced necrosis, although the specific mechanisms remain unclear.
