Case: An 80-year-old woman sustained a fracture-dislocation of the proximal aspect of the humerus with a near-complete brachial plexopathy, which was successfully managed acutely using a reverse shoulder arthroplasty (RSA) with repair of the greater and lesser tuberosities. The palsy, which was confirmed with nerve conduction studies, recovered uneventfully along with functional improvement of the shoulder. At the most recent follow-up, there was complete resolution of the plexopathy, with excellent, pain-free range of motion.
Conclusion: Acute RSA with tuberosity repair may be a reasonable treatment modality in the setting of an acute brachial plexus palsy following a comminuted fracture-dislocation of the proximal aspect of the humerus in an elderly patient.

Case: The effective reconstruction and functional restoration of the shoulder joint after surgical treatment of shoulder girdle tumors, especially those involving resection of the glenoid, poses significant challenges. Reconstruction methods include allograft reconstruction and shoulder prosthesis. In this report, we present 2 cases of scapulectomy for tumors involving the glenoid, followed by shoulder reconstruction using custom-designed reverse shoulder prostheses that are partially fixed to the clavicle.

Methods: Eligible patients were identified using linked national data from the Danish Shoulder Arthroplasty Registry and Statistics Denmark between April 2012 and April 2019. Univariable and multivariable linear regression was used to identify the association between socioeconomic factors and the WOOS index at 1 year following primary shoulder arthroplasty adjusted for age, sex, underlying diagnosis, implant design, and comorbidities.

Background: Alzheimer's disease poses a growing health crisis in China, exacerbated by the country's rapidly aging population and cultural emphasis on family-based care. Caregivers shoulder immense physical and psychological burdens, often struggling to reconcile personal expectations with the demands of caregiving.
Method: This study based on ethnographic data collected through prolonged engagements with a family in urban China caring for an adult diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease, explores the application of Role Theory.

Objectives: To evaluate the clinical significance of stress shielding in patients who have undergone an uncemented reverse shoulder arthroplasty (RSA) with a proximally coated stem for complex proximal humeral fractures (PHF) comprising 3 or 4 parts, assessed at 2 years postoperatively. Additionally, this study aims to examine the correlation between tuberosity healing and clinical outcomes.
Methods: Single Centre.

Purpose Of Review: With the growing popularity and broadening indications for Reverse Shoulder Arthroplasty (RSA), increasing modularity in design and adjustments to each component can enhance postoperative range of motion (ROM), thus expanding treatment capabilities. This review outlines the advancements developed to optimize ROM through modifications in glenoid and humeral components and the integration of computational tools for surgical planning.
Recent Findings: Enhancements in glenoid component design aim to mitigate complications like scapular notching and improve ROM, particularly in abduction and external rotation.
