Context: : The influence of sex steroid hormones on periodontium can be lowered with good plaque control.
Aims: The aim of the present study was to evaluate periodontal status in pre- and post-menopausal women with periodontitis following nonsurgical therapy.
Settings And Design: Interventional pre-post clinical trial.
Subjects And Methods: Periodontal status was measured by periodontal index (PRI), and oral hygiene status was measured by plaque index (PI). Both the parameters were measured at baseline, i.e. before scaling and root planing and after 3 months intervals posttreatment.
Statistical Analysis Used: IBM SPSS version 21.
Results: The mean PRI scores in premenopausal group were 5.68 ± 0.64 and 2.53 ± 0.13 and PI scores were 1.84 ± 0.17 and 0.91 ± 0.13, respectively, at baseline and 3 months. The mean PRI scores in postmenopausal group were 6.08 ± 0.47 and 2.54 ± 0.12 and PI scores were 1.86 ± 0.25 and 1.00 ± 0.24, respectively, at baseline and 3 months.
Conclusions: There was more desirable response to nonsurgical periodontal therapy in both the groups but not much variation in between two groups.

Background: Post-hemorrhagic hydrocephalus (PHH) is a severe complication in premature infants following intraventricular hemorrhage (IVH). It is characterized by abnormal cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) accumulation, disrupted CSF dynamics, and elevated intracranial pressure (ICP), leading to significant neurological impairments.
Objective: This review provides an overview of recent molecular insights into the pathophysiology of PHH and evaluates emerging therapeutic approaches aimed at addressing its underlying mechanisms.

Purpose: To evaluate the compatibility and readability of ChatGPT-4 in providing responses to common inquiries about strabismus and amblyopia.
Materials And Methods: A series of commonly asked questions were compiled, covering topics such as the definition, prevalence, diagnostic approaches, surgical and non-surgical treatment alternatives, postoperative guidelines, surgery-related risks, and visual prognosis associated with strabismus and amblyopia. Each question was asked three times on the online ChatGPT-4 platform both in English and French, with data collection conducted on February 18, 2024.

Purpose: The Evidence-Based Practice Committee of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand set out to assess the membership's practice patterns (PPs) and familiarity with evidence-based principles for scaphoid fracture and nonunion management.
Methods: Using a consensus-generated 25-item online survey, all the American Society for Surgery of the Hand members were invited to participate via email in September 2023. Two question types were used including evidence-based practice (EBP) and PPs.

Background: Thermal and chemical ablation techniques may consolidate recurrent metastatic cervical lymph nodes as alternatives to repeat neck dissection in thyroid cancer patients. This meta-analysis aims to compare the efficacy and safety across modalities.
Methods: Four databases were searched for studies on radiofrequency (RFA), microwave (MWA), laser (LA), and ethanol ablation (EA) treating metastatic cervical nodes from thyroid cancer.

Background: Rectal cancer has become one of the leading malignancies threatening people's health. For locally advanced rectal cancer (LARC), the comprehensive strategy combining neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy (NCRT), total mesorectal excision (TME), and adjuvant chemotherapy has emerged as a standard treatment regimen, leading to favorable local control and long-term survival. However, in recent years, an increasing attention has been paid on the exploration of organ preservation strategies, aiming to enhance quality of life while maintaining optimal oncological treatment outcomes.
