A young girl with L-dopa responsive dystonia showed significant improvements in motor function but had ongoing complaints of neuropsychological difficulties. A neuropsychological evaluation was undertaken to understand the nature of her difficulties. Intellectual function, attention, executive function, and academic attainment were assessed using published psychometric tests. Verbal and non-verbal reasoning was found to be age appropriate. Particular difficulties were identified with working memory, visual selective attention, dual attention, and processing speed which were having a significant impact upon the child and her family. The importance of a thorough neuropsychological evaluation is discussed in helping to appropriately manage and support the child with this chronic but rare health condition.

Introduction: Sluggish Cognitive Tempo (SCT) is a syndrome characterized by cognitive hypo-arousal that often appears as daytime sleepiness or drowsiness, mental fogginess, being easily confused, having difficulty with holding and manipulating information in working memory, and being forgetful. Although it frequently co-travels with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) or other conditions and confers significantly greater impairment, there are few studies examining SCT among adults with ADHD. Understanding what features SCT confers in association with ADHD, distinct from other conditions associating with ADHD, is critically important to confirm if SCT is a distinct syndrome that requires special assessment methods and special, distinct treatment efforts to reduce its impact.

Objective: Cognitive complaints are commonplace among women living with endometriosis-associated chronic pelvic pain (CPP); yet, surprisingly few studies have assessed their cognitive functioning. As an initial step to address the resulting knowledge gap, this review aimed to synthesize the current literature reporting on cognition in females with endometriosis-associated CPP, and due to the poverty of endometriosis studies, to draw on data from female cohorts with other chronic pain conditions to gain potentially relevant insights.
Methods: Three database searches were conducted (Scopus, PubMed, and PsycINFO).

Neuronal Ceroid Lipofuscinosis 11 (CLN11) is an ultra-rare subtype of adult-onset Neuronal Ceroid Lipofuscinosis. Its phenotype is variable and not fully known. A 21-year-old man was evaluated in our neurogenetic outpatient clinic for early onset complex phenotype, including learning difficulties, cerebellar ataxia, cone-rod dystrophy, epilepsy, and dystonia.
