Femoral component fracture is a rare complication in unicompartmental knee arthroplasty, especially in cemented prostheses. We present a 75-year-old man who presented with a fractured single-peg Vanguard component 9 years postoperatively. He was revised to a total knee arthroplasty with an excellent functional outcome at 1 year. The components were additionally examined at an outside biomechanical engineering laboratory. Theories as to the cause of the component fracture include aseptic loosening due to a thin anterior cement mantle and the single-peg Oxford design.

Despite an increasing number of studies examining the effect of Single-Photon Emission Computed Tomography/ Computed Tomography (SPECT/CT) on improvement of diagnosis of aseptic loosening, there is still a great deal of uncertainty regarding its applicability in diagnostic algorithm. Therefore, in this meta-analysis, we aimed to investigate the diagnostic performance of SPECT/CT for identification of aseptic loosening in patients with persistent pain following the total knee arthroplasty (TKA) and total hip arthroplasty (THA). Electronic databases including Medline, Scopus, Web of Science, Cochrane library, and Embase were systematically searched for identifying relevant published studies from their inception to April 2023.

This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy of antibiotic-loaded cement articulating spacers produced through a silicone mold in the two-stage revision of infected total knee arthroplasty. Five individuals were prospectively treated with 2-stage revision using spacers made by this mold. Background: This study aims to explore the impact of the National Volume-based Procurement Policy in Guangdong Province on hospitalization costs for total knee arthroplasty inpatients.
Methods: Interrupted time-series analysis were used to examine the expenses associated with total knee arthroplasty for inpatients at a hospital in Guangzhou between May 10, 2021, and December 26, 2023. The period was divided into two phases based on the implementation of the policy, the pre-policy phase (May 10, 2021, to April 30, 2022) and the post-policy phase (May 1, 2022, to December 26, 2023).
