Analysis of the natural radioactivity concentrations of the fine dust samples in Jeju Island, Korea and the annual effective radiation dose by inhalation.

This study analyzed the concentrations of potassium, thorium and uranium of the atmospheric PM aerosols which were collected at Gosan of Jeju Island during the year of 2014. The mean mass concentration of PM was 47.31 μg/m. The mean radioactive concentrations of K, Th and U were 7.89, 0.25 and 0.30 μBq/m, respectively. The Th/U activity concentration ratio of PM was 0.830. The Th/U ratio during Asian Dust days is 1.073, which is higher than those in other atmospheric conditions. The concentration ratio of Th/U was 0.902 in China continent.
