Karyotypes of four Chinese species of field mice of the genus Apodemus were examined, including (diploid chromosome number, 2=48, fundamental number of autosomal arms, FNa=56), (2=48, FNa=48), (2=48, FNa=48), and (2=48, FNa=48). Karyotypes of , , and are reported here for the first time, providing useful information for their species taxonomy. Determining the karyotypes of all species of Apodemus in Asia, both in this and previous studies, provides a solid overview of the chromosome evolution and species differentiation of the genus in East Asia. In addition to allopatric speciation, chromosome rearrangements likely played an important role in the formation of the four species groups as well as speciation within each group in East Asia. For example, increased centromeric heterochromatin in may have contributed to the post-mating reproductive isolation from the -- semotus clade.

Background: Endoscopic ultrasound (EUS)-guided tissue acquisition represents the choice of methods for suspected lymph nodes (LNs) located next to the gastrointestinal tract. This study aimed to compare the pooled diagnostic performance of EUS-guided fine-needle biopsy (EUS-FNB) and fine-needle aspiration (EUS-FNA) for LNs sampling.
Methods: We searched PubMed/MedLine and Embase databases through August 2021.
Primary granular cell tumors (GCTs) of the thyroid are exceptionally rare. We report the clinicopathologic and molecular features of three cases and review the literature. Two patients (20-year-old, Case 1, and 26-year-old, Case 2, black American females) presented with painless masses with a preoperative fine-needle aspiration biopsy (FNAB) diagnosis of "Hürthle cell neoplasm," while one additional patient, 51-year-old white American female (Case 3), presented as an incidental finding within a background of chronic lymphocytic thyroiditis.

Background: Papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) is the most commonly diagnosed differentiated thyroid carcinoma. There is controversy about performing upfront lobectomy vs thyroidectomy for smaller well differentiated thyroid carcinoma.
Methods: A retrospective study from 2015 to 2020 was conducted consisting of consecutive patients with a preoperative malignant (Bethesda VI) cytology on fine needle aspirate (FNA) consistent with PTC.

Accurate diagnosis and risk stratification of pancreatic cysts (PCs) is challenging. The aim of this study was to perform a systematic review and meta-analysis to assess the feasibility, safety, and diagnostic yield of endoscopic ultrasound-guided through-the-needle biopsy (TTNB) versus fine-needle aspiration (FNA) in PCs. Comprehensive search of databases (PubMed, EMBASE, Cochrane, Web of Science) for relevant studies on TTNB of PCs (from inception to June 2019).
