The asymmetric unit of the title anhydrate compound, (NH)[VO(CHO)(HO)], consists of two independent complex anions and four ammonium cations. In the complex anions, the V atoms are each coordinated by two malonate ligands, one water mol-ecule and one oxide O atom in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. The equatorial plane is formed by the malonate O atoms, while the axial positions are occupied by water and oxide O atoms. The difference between the two independent complexes is the relative conformation of the malonate ligands. The two ligands in one complex anion are in a conformation, while in the other they adopt an conformation. In the crystal, the complex anions inter-act with the counter-cations and adjacent anions through O-H⋯O, N-H⋯O and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. Stacks of alternating layers consisting of either or isomers, formed with the aid of the hydrogen bonding, are observed. DFT calculations for the and isomers show a similar thermodynamic stability to each other. The crystal used for this analysis was an inversion twin with the ratio of the twin components being 0.270 (13):0.730 (13).

Five alkali metal manganese(III) fluorophosphates, KMn(POF)F (I), RbMn(POF)F (II), RbMn(POF)(PO)F (III), RbMn(POF)(PO)F (IV), and CsMn(POF)F (V), were successfully synthesized using a hydrothermal method. The monofluorophosphate anion (POF) groups work as "chemical scissors" to promote low-dimensional spin structures with the aid of alkali metal cations. I and II had an = 2 uniform chain structure formed by corner-sharing -MnOF octahedra.

Single-molecule Magnet Properties of Silole- and Stannole-ligated Erbium Cyclo-octatetraenyl Sandwich Complexes.

Chemistry

January 2025

University of Sussex, Department of Chemistry, School of Life Sciences, BN1 9QJ, Brighton, UNITED KINGDOM OF GREAT BRITAIN AND NORTHERN IRELAND.

The synthesis, structures and magnetic properties of an η5-silole complex and an η5-stannole complex of erbium are reported. The sandwich complex anions [(η5-CpSi)Er(η8-COT)]- and [(η5-CpSn)Er(η8-COT)]-, where CpSi is [SiC4-2,5-(SiMe3)2-3,4-Ph2]2- (1Si), CpSn is [SnC4-2,5-(SiMe3)2-3,4-Me2]2- (1Sn) and COT = cyclo-octatetraenyl, were obtained as their [K(2.2.

The isolation of nucleophilic boron bases has led to a paradigm shift in boron chemistry. Previous studies of the bis(carbene) borylene complexes revealed that these compounds possess strong donor abilities, and their reaction inertness is due to the large steric hindrance between boron reagents and reactant. In the present study, we have theoretically studied the [(N)BX] and [(N)BX] compounds (X = H, F, Cl, Br).

Calcium is the most abundant mineral in the human body. About 99% of calcium is deposited in the bones in the form of hydroxyapatite and only 1% is located in the intracellular and extracellular fluid. Ionized calcium, which makes up about 50% of the total amount of circulating calcium, is biologically active; the remaining percentage is bound to plasma proteins (40%, of which albumin accounts for 90%, and globulins for 10%), or is in complex with anions (10%) such as citrate, lactate, bicarbonate, phosphate.
