There is an urgent need for stable, plant-based Pickering foams to address the growing consumer demand for sustainable, low-calorie, aerated sweet foods. This study employed a cold plasma-assisted deamidation and glycosylation (CPDG) approach to promote hydrophilic reassembly of zein, resulting in the formation of sugar derivative-zein conjugates. This was accomplished by coupling deamidated zein with polyhydroxy sugars including sucralose (Suc), maltitol (Mal), mannitol (Man), and stevioside (Ste).

Sucralose, a commonly nonnutritive sweetener used in daily products of habitual diet, is related to impairing the gut microbiome by disrupting inflammatory response, promoting weight gain by increasing adipose tissue and promoting chronic inflammatory processes. Considering the impact of sucralose in the development of metabolic diseases, in this work, we focused on the impact of sucralose on the adipocyte differentiation process to determine if sucralose can promote adipogenesis and increase adipose tissue depots in PCS 210 010 human preadipocytes cell line. Sucralose at 25 (S25) and 100 ng/µL (S100) concentrations were tested against control with no edulcorant (NS) during the adipocyte differentiation process at 48 h and 96 h.

Given the limited research on pharmaceuticals and personal care products (PPCPs) in the Wuhan section of the Yangtze River (WYR), this work investigated the distribution of 15 PPCPs in this region, assessed their ecological risks and annual fluxes. It was further to analyze the levels of indicator sucralose in the WYR to understand the sources of PPCPs. The results showed the average concentrations were 143.

Introduction: Artificial sweeteners, sucralose and acesulfame-k, are listed as ingredients of oral nicotine pouches (ONPs), a product category with rapidly growing market share. The exact quantities of these sweeteners in ONPs remain unknown. Artificial sweeteners in ONPs may reduce aversion, facilitate initiation and encourage consumption behavior.
