ConspectusThe electronic properties of atomically thin van der Waals (vdW) materials can be precisely manipulated by vertically stacking them with a controlled offset (for example, a rotational offset─i.e., twist─between the layers, or a small difference in lattice constant) to generate moiré superlattices.

This study aimed to elucidate the pivotal enzymes and molecular mechanisms underlying PGE synthesis induced by central Ang II (angiotensin II) and its implications in the heightened oxidative stress and sympathetic outflow in hypertension.
Methods And Results: RVLM microinjections of PGE and Tempol were administered in Wistar-Kyoto rats.

Pregnancy-related spontaneous coronary artery dissection (P-SCAD) is a life-threatening condition that occurs during or after pregnancy, is rare and can be overlooked. It is one of the most important causes of pregnancy-related acute myocardial infarction. A 25-year-old female patient was admitted with a complaint of chest pain in her 37th week of pregnancy.

The study aimed to evaluate the basic pharmacological effects of modified phenyl carbamic acid derivates with a basic part made of N-phenylpiperazine (compounds 6a, 6b, 6c, 6d) in Wistar rats. The compounds were evaluated for their ability to decrease the phenylephrine-induced contraction of the aortic strips of rats after repeated administration of the compounds and their ability to inhibit the positive chronotropic effect of isoproterenol on spontaneously beating rat atria. The ability to inhibit the vasoconstriction effect of phenylephrine was confirmed in all compounds in the range from 10.

Introduction: Masking is a reporting bias where drug safety signals are muffled by elevated reporting of other medications in spontaneous reporting databases. While the impact of masking is often limited, its effect when using restricted designs, such as active comparators, can be consequential.
Methods: We used data from the US Food and Drugs Administration Adverse Event Reporting System (1999Q3-2013Q3) to study masking in a real-world example.
