Objective: The aim of this study was head-to-head comparison of the efficacy and rate of adverse events of metoclopramide, ibuprofen and dexketoprofen for the acute treatment of migraine attack in the real-life conditions of a busy emergency department (ED).
Methods: This was a prospective, observational, cross-sectional study. All patients who presented to the ED with a headache fulfilling the inclusion criteria were enrolled. All patients were treated by the attending emergency physicians in their daily routine. If an IV treatment in the ED was found indicated by the EP, they selected one of the options in the written departmental migraine treatment protocol.
Results: During the study period, 54 patients met the inclusion criteria. The median change in the pain score was significantly different among treatment options (p<0.0001). The median pain score change at the end of the 30 minutes for treatment groups were 7.5 mm (IQR: 7.0-8.0), 5.0 mm (IQR: 4.75-7.0), and 7.0 mm (IQR: 6.0-7.25), respectively (p=0.0002). All three groups were found to be significantly different from each other in the post-hoc analysis.
Conclusion: All drugs compared in this study are effective in the relief of migraine headache. However, IV dexketoprofen seems to be faster and more effective than metoclopramide and ibuprofen.

Objective: This study aimed to investigate whether the first onset of migraine episodes among primary healthcare patients in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, is preceded by a highly stressful event, as well as to identify common potential triggers and relievers reported by these patients.
Background: Migraine is a prevalent and debilitating neurological disorder. The pathophysiology of migraine involves complex interactions between genetic, neurological, and environmental factors, including the trigeminovascular system and neuropeptides such as calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP).

Objective: This study aims to evaluate the short-term efficacy of right-to-left shunt closure in vestibular migraine patients, and compare the efficacy between patent foramen ovale (PFO) closure and pulmonary arteriovenous malformation (PAVM) embolization. Additionally, the study identifies factors related to surgical outcomes.
Methods: Forty-one patients with vestibular migraine and medium to large right-to-left shunts underwent surgery: PFO closure, PAVM embolization, or both.

Sodium valproate- a salt of valproic acid (VPA), is an anticonvulsant used in the treatment of epilepsy and a range of psychiatric conditions that include panic attacks, anxiety, post-traumatic stress, migraine and bipolar disorder etc. VPA can cause direct damage to many tissues due to accumulation of toxic metabolites. Nowadays, phytochemicals are amongst the best options for the treatment of diseases.

Familial hemiplegic migraine type 2 results from pathogenic variants in the gene, which encodes for a catalytic subunit of sodium/potassium ATPase. This extremely rare autosomal dominant disorder manifests with a spectrum of symptoms, most commonly pure hemiplegic phenotype, epilepsy, and/or intellectual disability. In this study, we detail the clinical features and genetic analysis of nine patients from a large family spanning four generations, with all carrying a previously unreported likely pathogenic variant, p.
