We investigated a method to obtain a stable contrast mode on the TiO(110) surface. The stable contrast rate is approximately 95% with a W-coated Si cantilever, which demonstrates that a stable tip apex plays an important role to obtain the real geometry of the surface during atomic force microscopy measurement. Information related to surface structure and tunnelling current on the TiO(110) surface can be obtained by the W-coated Si cantilever. It is possible to investigate the electronic structure and surface potential on the TiO(110) surface with atomic resolution. In particular, the proposed method could be widely applied to investigate the catalytic activity and the mechanism of a catalytic reaction by a metal-coated tip in the future.

Quantum dots (QDs) have shown great application potential in a variety of optoelectronic devices due to their unique optoelectronic properties, especially playing a key role in the development of quantum dot converted light-emitting diodes (QD-LEDs). Inorganic ligands, including metal chalcogenides, oxoanions, halides, pseudohalides, and metal cations, play crucial roles in the synthesis, stabilization, and functionalization of QDs. Compared to long-chain organic ligands, inorganic ligands are shorter and possess higher electron mobility, which facilitates their application in high-performance QD-LEDs.

In this work, we carry out a systematic computer simulation investigation of the single particle dynamics at the free surface of imidazolium-based room temperature ionic liquids by applying intrinsic surface analysis. Besides assessing the effect of the potential model and temperature, we focus in particular on the effect of changing the anion type, and, hence, their shape and size. Further, we also address the role of the length of the cation alkyl chains, known to protrude into the vapor phase, on the surface dynamics of the ions.

In semiconductor catalysts, rational doping of nonmetallic elements holds significant scientific and technological importance for enhancing photocatalytic performance. Here, using a one-step hydrothermal technique, we synthesized iodine-doped BiOCl composite and evaluated the impact of iodine doping on its photocatalytic capability for organic dye degradation under visible light irradiation. In this study, we demonstrate that the introduction of iodide ions not only provides an ideal built-in electric field (BIEF) for BiOCl but also induces the generation of additional oxygen vacancies (OVs).

The classical electrochemiluminescence (ECL) reagent Ru(bpy) was first doped into CdSe QDs to prepare novel dual-potential color-resolved luminophore Ru-CdSe QDs. Ru-CdSe QDs emitted a strong red ECL signal at a positive potential with coreactant TPrA and a strong green ECL signal at a negative potential with coreactant KSO. As a proof-of-concept application, this work introduced Ru-CdSe QDs into a dual-channel closed bipolar electrode (CBPE) system to construct an ECL biosensor for simultaneous detection of chloramphenicol (CAP) and kanamycin (KAN).
