To study the neuronal protective effect and its potential mechanism of C16 against gp120-induced cognitive impairment in vitro and in vivo. The NORT method was used to evaluate the short-term memory abilities of rats, the morphological changes in hippocampus were observed by Nissl staining. Cell viability and damage degree were detected by MTT and LDH.

In the present study, the effects of the acetylcholinesterase (AChE) enzyme inhibitor rivastigmine (RIVA) on spike-wave discharges (SWDs), memory impairment, anxiety-like behavior, and the transient receptor potential vanilloid 1 (TRPV1) gene expression were investigated in genetic absence epileptic Wistar Albino Glaxo/Rijswijk (WAG/Rij) rats. After tripolar electrodes were implanted on the WAG/Rij rats' skulls, single doses of 0.125, 0.

Vascular cognitive impairment and dementia (VCID), resulting from chronic cerebral hypoperfusion, represent the second most prevalent form of dementia globally. Aerobic exercise is widely acknowledged as an effective intervention for various cognitive disorders. This study utilized a bilateral common carotid artery stenosis (BCAS) model to investigate whether aerobic exercise promotes cognitive recovery through the Annexin-A1 (ANXA1)/mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) axis in BCAS mice.

Background: Numerous studies have highlighted the role of oxidative stress in Alzheimer's disease (AD) development. Yet, the alignment of systemic and central oxidative stress biomarkers is unclear across diverse populations in the AD continuum. This study aims to assess protein damage levels in plasma and cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) within the AD continuum.

Background: Alzheimer's disease (AD) frequently coexists with cerebral small vessel disease (CSVD) is common in the aging population, yet the underlying mechanisms are not yet fully understood. Both long-term blood pressure variability (BPV) and plasma neurofilament light (PNFL) were identified as potential biomarkers for AD and CSVD. This study aims to understand the mechanisms of comorbidity between AD and CSVD by investigating the associations among BPV, PNFL, and comorbidity.
