A novel 36-metallacrown-6 complex [CuL(N(CN)₂)(PF₆)]₆∙0.5H₂O was achieved using a tridendate ligand, 1,4,7-triisopropyl-1,4,7-triazacyclononane (L), and a flexible ligand, dicyanamide in MeOH. The μ bridging models of the dicyanamide ligand linked the macrocycle to form in a specific size with the chair conformation. The anion was important to form this 36-metallacrown-6 complex, as change was obtained with the larger anion BPh₄, binuclear copper compound . The magnetic property indicates that slightly ferromagnetic interactions resulted from a superexchange mechanism. DNA binding properties were also studied. UV and fluorescence spectra showed that complex could bind with DNA.

Plants provide an abundant source of potential therapeutic agents, including a diverse array of compounds, such as cyclotides, which are peptides known for their antimicrobial activity. Cyclotides are multifaceted molecules with a wide range of biological activities. Their unique topology forms a head-to-tail cyclic structure reinforced by a cysteine knot, which confers chemical and thermal stability.

Mutations of the Cullin-3 (Cul3) E3 ubiquitin ligase are associated with autism and schizophrenia, neurological disorders characterized by sleep disturbances and altered synaptic function. Cul3 engages dozens of adaptor proteins to recruit hundreds of substrates for ubiquitination, but the adaptors that impact sleep and synapses remain ill-defined. Here we implicate Insomniac (Inc), a conserved protein required for normal sleep and synaptic homeostasis in Drosophila, as a Cul3 adaptor.

The deposition of alkali metals on oxide surfaces has garnered significant interest due to their critical role in enhancing various catalytic processes. However, the atomic-scale characterization of these structures remains elusive, owing to the complex and competing interactions among the oxygen, the alkali metals, and the metal atoms within the oxides. In this work, we grew alkali metals (Na, K, Cs) on the copper oxide films on the Cu(111) surface and found the formation of hexagonally ordered monolayer films.

Background: Boswellic acid (BA) is a bioactive compound derived from Boswellia trees. This study aims to investigate the anti-cancer properties of BA against KB oral squamous cancer cells and elucidate the underlying mechanisms.
Methods: Escalating doses of BA were administered to KB cells, and various analyses were conducted using bioinformatic tools such as GEO, GEO2R, and STITCH database.

Apigenin, a dietary flavonoid with notable anti-cancer properties, has emerged as a promising candidate for the treatment of neurodegenerative disorders, particularly Alzheimer's disease (AD). While extensively studied for its ability to modulate key molecular pathways in cancers, apigenin also exerts neuroprotective effects by reducing neuroinflammation, protecting neurons from oxidative stress, and enhancing neuronal survival and synaptic plasticity. This dual functionality makes apigenin an intriguing therapeutic option for diseases like AD, where kinase dysregulation plays a central role.
