Aims: In the diagnostic or research field, there is a need that the histopathological evaluation provides as much information as possible, with the shortest time and lowest cost. The development of the tissue microarray (TMA) technology has significantly facilitated and accelerated studies with tissue analyses using in situ technologies. Nevertheless, one of the most recognised limitations of TMA is that the small cores used to construct a TMA may not accurately represent characteristics of the whole tissue specimen. The aim is to present the technical aspects of a simple system to construct tissue macroarrays (TMaAs), its advantages and limitations, and some results of its use in for research purposes.
Methods: The study presents three possibilities of preparing the specimens with up to 6 mm diameter to be included into the TMaA paraffin block using our method.
Results: With this technique, it was possible to obtain glass slides with multiple whole fragments, which were used in five different studies.
Conclusions: We presented a method for construction of multi-TMaA paraffin blocks, which is very simple for optimising laboratory techniques requiring paraffin-embedded tissue sections and can be easily implemented in any institution with a histology laboratory.

Primary head and neck mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue lymphoma (HN-MALT) is a rare lymphoma with unknown incidence and prognosis. We allocated HN-MALT data from the Self-Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results database (2000-2021) into training and validation cohorts at a 7:3 ratio. A joinpoint regression analysis was used to examine sex-specific and age-group morbidities, and independent prognostic factors were identified through multivariate Cox analysis to construct a nomogram prediction model and verify the accuracy of prediction.

To investigate the effect of concentrated growth factor (CGF) on the biological performance of human dental pulp stem cells (hDPSCs) under oxidative stress status induced by hydrogen peroxide (HO). The hDPSCs were isolated by using tissue block separation method from healthy permanent teeth extracted for orthodontic reason. hDPSCs surface markers CD34, CD45, CD90 and CD105 were detected by flow cytometry.

Intervertebral disc degeneration is a degenerative disease where inflammation and immune responses play significant roles. Macrophages, as key immune cells, critically regulate inflammation through polarization into different phenotypes. In recent years, the role of macrophages in inflammation-related degenerative diseases, such as intervertebral disc degeneration, has been increasingly recognized.

Due to its unique physiological structure and functions, the eye has received considerable attention in the field of Adeno-associated virus (AAV) gene therapy. Inherited retinal degenerative diseases, which arise from pathogenic mutations in mRNA transcripts expressed in the eye's photoreceptor cells or retinal pigment epithelium (RPE), are the most common cause of vision loss. However, current retinal gene therapy mostly involves subretinal injection of therapeutic genes, which treats a limited area, entails retinal detachment, and requires sophisticated techniques.

Temperature fluctuations challenge ectothermic species, particularly tropical fish dependent on external temperatures for physiological regulation. However, the molecular mechanisms through which low-temperature stress impacts immune responses in these species, especially in relation to chromatin accessibility and epigenetic regulation, remain poorly understood. In this study, we investigate chromatin and transcriptional changes in the head kidney and thymus tissues of Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus), a tropical fish of significant economic importance, under cold stress.
