AI Article Synopsis

  • The study used meta-analysis to assess the relationship between transforming growth factor beta 1 (TGF-β1) expression and papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC), reviewing 6 studies with 617 samples.
  • It found that TGF-β1 was positively expressed in 64.63% of PTC patients, with an overall expression rate of 46.19%.
  • The analysis showed a significant link between TGF-β1 expression and lymphatic metastasis, suggesting TGF-β1 could be a predictor for PTC prognosis related to lymph node involvement.

Article Abstract

To comprehensively evaluate the association between the positive expression rate of transforming growth factor beta 1 (TGF-β1) and papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) by using Meta-analysis.Search the CNKI, Wan fang, VIP and PubMed database for accumulating papers studying on the relationship between the positive expression of TGF-β1 and PTC in Chinese and English. Revman 5.3 was used to analyze the included trials.A total of 6 studies comprising 617 samples was included in the meta-analysis. The TGF-β1 were found in 243 patients (64.63%) of 376 PTC patients, and the total positive expression rate is 46.19%. Performing the subgroup analysis according to age, gender, lymphatic metastasis and TNM, the results showed that there was a significant association between the positive expression rate of TGF-β1 and lymphatic metastasis (=5.44, 95%3.31-8.93, <0.000 01).This meta-analysis confirmed significant associations between the expression of TGF-β1 and PTC with lymph node metastasis. TGF-β1 may be used as a predictive factor for prognosis of PTC with lymph node metastasis.

Objective: Aim: To evaluate the expression levels of SOX-10 in tissues of bladder tumor and to prove the correlation between SOX-10 expression and clinicopathological characteristics of bladder tumors, including patient age, sex, tumor grade, and muscle invasion.

Patients And Methods: Materials and Methods: Forty formalin fixed paraffin embedded FFPE tissue blocks gathered by transurethral resection of bladder tumor are collected from teaching hospitals at Al-Najaf governorate. Those blocks were stained by hematoxylin and eosin.

Despite the potential of smart home technologies (SHT) to support everyday activities, the implementation rate of such technology in the homes of older adults remains low. The overall aim of this study was to explore factors involved in the decision-making process in adopting SHT among current and future generations of older adults. We also aimed to identify and understand barriers and facilitators that can better support older adults' engagement in everyday activities.

Patients with spinal cord injury (SCI) may develop depression, which can affect their rehabilitation. However, the underlying mechanism of depression in SCI patients remains unclear. Previous studies have revealed increased p38 MAPK phosphorylation in the rat hippocampus after SCI, accompanied by depression-like behaviors.

Objective: Programmed Death-Ligand 1 (PD-L1) and Cytotoxic T Lymphocyte -Associated Antigen-4 (CTLA-4) are presently considered as prognostic markers and therapeutic targets in numerous human malignancies. The goal of this study was to determine whether PD-L1 and CTLA-4 might be used to predict patients' survival in Triple Negative Breast Cancer (TNBC).

Methods: This retrospective cohort study analyzed 100 primary TNBC cases that had surgical resection at the Oncology Center of Mansoura University (OCMU), Faculty of Medicine, Egypt.
