Multifunctional coatings that adhere to chemically distinct substrates are vital in many industries, including automotive, aerospace, shipbuilding, construction, petrochemical, biomedical, and pharmaceutical. We design well-defined, nearly monodisperse microgels that integrate hydrophobic dopamine methacrylamide monomers and hydrophilic zwitterionic monomers. The dopamine functionalities operate as both intraparticle cross-linkers and interfacial binders, respectively providing mechanical strength of the coatings and their strong adhesion to different substrates. In tandem, the zwitterionic moieties enable surface hydration to empower antifouling and antifogging properties. Drop-casting of microgel suspensions in ambient as well as humid environments facilitates rapid film formation and tunable roughness through regulation of cross-linking density and deposition conditions.

Aim: This study evaluates long-term shear bond strength (SBS) and enamel micro cracks (MCs) healing after using adhesive pre-coated brackets (APC).
Materials And Methods: A total of eighty extracted human premolar teeth were randomly divided into four experimental groups ( = 20 per group): Control group: Teeth underwent indentation but no bracket bonding; group II : Teeth were subjected to indentation without exposure to thermocycling; group III: Teeth experienced both indentation and thermocycling; group IV: No indentation was applied to the teeth; groups III and IV were further divided into two subgroups to simulate different clinical timelines: Subgroup A (n = 10): Teeth underwent 5,000 thermocycles, equivalent to six months of clinical use. Subgroup B (n = 10): Teeth were subjected to 10,000 thermocycles, representing 12 months of use.

This study investigates the tensile behavior of carbon-fiber-reinforced polymer (CFRP) and textile-reinforced mortar (TRM) under various design variables to enhance understanding and application in construction structures. TRM reinforced with CFRP grids is highly effective for strengthening existing structures due to its lightweight nature, durability, ease of installation, and corrosion resistance. The research aims to evaluate how design parameters such as the CFRP grid type, mortar matrix strength (influenced by the water-to-cement ratio), specimen length, and grid width affect TRM's mechanical properties.

This study evaluated the influence of six resin composite coating agents on color stability and surface roughness after toothbrushing abrasion. Discs (Ø6 mm x 2 mm) of nanofilled resin composite (Filtek Z350XT) were prepared for application of coating agents (n=10): control (absence), two surface sealants (PermaSeal and BisCover LV), two adhesive systems (Scotchbond Multi-Purpose Adhesive/3M Oral Care and Single Bond Universal), and two modeling liquids (Modeling Resin and Composite Wetting Resin). CIELab*, WID, and color change (ΔEab, ΔE00, and ΔWID) were analyzed at baseline, after finishing and polishing, after application of coating agents, after coffee staining (simulating 30 days and one year of staining), and after toothbrushing abrasion.

For separation of deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA), positively charged amino-modified magnetic nanoparticles (MN) can effectively adsorb negatively charged DNA through electrostatic interaction. However, the reported preparation of amino-modified MN is usually tedious and time-consuming. Therefore, a simple synthesis method of amino-modified MN is necessary for DNA extraction.
