Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) in patients undergoing endoscopic endonasal surgery remains underexplored, despite its potential impact on postoperative recovery. This study aimed to develop and validate a predictive nomogram for assessing the risk of lower-limb DVT in such patients without chemoprophylaxis. A retrospective analysis was conducted on 935 patients with postoperative lower-limb vein ultrasonography.

Inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD) including Crohn's disease (CD) and ulcerative colitis (UC) are chronic, relapsing conditions characterized by dysregulated immune responses and persistent intestinal inflammation. This review aims to examine new potential therapeutic targets in IBD starting from the STRIDE-II statements. Key targets now include clinical remission, endoscopic remission, and biomarker normalization (such as C-reactive protein and fecal calprotectin).

Eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE) is a chronic inflammatory esophageal disorder. Lower respiratory tract infections are particularly frequent in hematological patients; their early diagnosis and the timely start of targeted therapy are essential. Bronchoalveolar lavage (BAL) can provide a microbiological sample from the lower airways in a minimally invasive way. This study aimed to determine the diagnostic yield of BAL in hematological patients for microbiological purposes and its influence on modifying the therapeutic strategy.
