It was found that, in the differentiated cells of mouse brain, the level of core (Brg1 and BAF155) and specific (BRD7, BAF180, and PHF10) subunits of the chromatin-remodeling complex PBAF is reduced compared to the undifferentiated proliferating cells. Phosphorylation of PBAF complex subunits is required for maintaining their stability in differentiated brain cells.

Canine high-grade oligodendrogliomas (HGOGs) exhibit a high expression of platelet-derived growth factor receptor-α (PDGFRA). We examined mutations and gain of and their association with the PDGFRA expression and proliferation of tumor cells in canine HGOG cases and cell lines. Polymerase chain reaction and sequence analysis revealed expected pathogenic mutations in exons 7 and 8 in 16/34 (47%) cases.

The proteasome, an evolutionarily conserved proteolytic complex comprising the 20S core particle and 19S regulatory particles, performs both shared and distinct functions across various tissues and organs. Spermatogenesis, a highly complex developmental process, relies on proteasome activity at multiple stages to regulate protein turnover. In this study, we selected the 20S subunit PSMA1 and 19S regulatory subunit PSMD2 to investigate the potential functions of the proteasome in spermatogenesis.

The 26S proteasome is a crucial protease complex responsible for degrading specific proteins to maintain cellular function during salt stress. Previous studies have shown that GmRPN11d, a subunit of the regulatory particle in soybean, is upregulated in response to short-term salt stress. This research discovered that GmRPN11d is localized in the nucleus and cytoplasm, with its expression increasing under high salinity and other stress conditions.

Sperm cryopreservation is a complex process involving gene expression, protein synthesis, membrane stability, and metabolic adaptation. However, molecular alterations in sperm cryopreservation and the mechanisms defending against freezing damage remain poorly understood. This study investigates these changes and defense mechanisms using transcriptomics, proteomics, and metabolomics data.

Microplastics (MPs) are known as substantial environmental and health threats because of their pervasive existence and potential function in human diseases. This study is the first research in which a comprehensive analysis of various impacts of MPs on cancer cells is performed through pharmacological and in silico approaches. Moreover, our results demonstrate that MPs have both promotive and suppressive impacts on cancer cells, changing some of the important features of these kinds of cells including cellular viability, migration, metastasis, and apoptosis.
