In emergency departments, several organisational solutions have had a positive effect on working conditions and patient satisfaction. The methodology of the French agency supporting the performance of healthcare and medical-social facilities (ANAP) focuses on four areas: total time in the emergency department, appropriate combination of staff with regard to the activity, best organisational practices and priority interfaces.

Department of Colorectal Surgery, Digestive Disease and Surgery Institute, Cleveland Clinic, Ohio.
Background: Patients with Crohn's disease face an elevated risk of colorectal cancer, in part due to underlying chronic inflammation. Biologic therapy is the mainstay of medical treatment; however, the impact of treatment on colorectal cancer-related outcomes remains unclear.
Objective: To investigate the association between prior exposure to biologic treatment and colorectal cancer-related outcomes in patients with underlying Crohn's disease.
Prehosp Emerg Care

Objectives: Medication for opioid use disorder (MOUD) reduces morbidity and mortality for patients with opioid use disorder (OUD). Recent administrative and legislative changes have made MOUD possible in the prehospital setting. We use an implementation science framework to outline the Reach of a fire department EMS-based Mobile Integrated Health (MIH) prehospital MOUD program.

Background: There is increasing recognition that the interpretation of active-controlled HIV prevention trials should consider the counterfactual placebo HIV incidence rate, that is, the rate that would have been observed if the trial had included a placebo control arm. The PrEPVacc HIV vaccine and pre-exposure prophylaxis trial (NCT04066881) incorporated a pre-trial registration cohort partly for this purpose. In this article, we describe our attempts to model the counterfactual placebo HIV incidence rate from the registration cohort.

Vertical migrations by marine organisms contribute to carbon export by consumption of surface phytoplankton followed by defecation in the deep ocean. However, biogeochemical models lack observational data, leading to oversimplified representation of carbon cycling by migrating organisms, such as Antarctic krill (). Using a numerical model informed by 1 year of acoustic observations in the East Antarctic, we estimated the total particulate organic carbon (POC) flux from krill fecal pellets to be 9.

Background: The precise pathways connecting insulin resistance (IR) to atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD) remain undefined. The present study aimed to examine the mediating role of arterial stiffness in the association between IR and ASCVD, providing epidemiology insights into the potential mechanisms driving IR to incident ASCVD.
Methods: A total of 59,777 participants from the Kailuan Study Arterial Stiffness Subcohort who were free of ASCVD at baseline were enrolled in the present study.
